My hotel room was calm and clean. During the daytime boys played foot ball on the inner yards. Certainly some talents around. After I left the hotel in rush I got a message by email one day later that I left a folder behind. It was sent to my home address quickly.

The front desk should be recognized for being so helpful and friendly, and the location is great. Less than 3 blocks from Plaza de Catalunya, El Corte Ingles and La Rambla, it is close enough to walk but far enough to be out of the craziness. The low level of cleanliness is shocking. The wardrobe had a thick layer of...

This hotel is in a great little spot which is in walking distance of a number of restaurants, bars, la ramblas and the port! The room was basic but comfortable and the staff couldn't have been more helpful! I really don't understand how it has so many bad reviews! It was reasonably priced and we would defo stay here again!!

Our room was great. The bathroom had a swing door with no lock but we have experienced the same system in the USA as well. Lots of useful bathroom items were included. There was free wifi + a laptop (windows of course) bathrobes and slippers. It would have be nice to have more english channels on the TV. The staff...

Great location, helpful staff, clean and comfortable room, no complaints whatsoever. Right off Las Ramblas, easy to walk to all parts of town but close to the metro if you're tired of walking. Great breakfast buffet (extra) to start the day off right. Would definitely stay there again.

We thought the family room was large for a family with 2 kids. Yes, the corridor was dark. It was all painted black with sensor lights that light up when you walk. All staff were nice. No dampness in our room - it is on level 3 and faces the school. Breakfast - we ate at the hotel twice -...

Hotel Petit Palace is to be avoided. I hesitated to stay at the petit Palace due to the poor reviews. The hotel was actually worse than our low expectation. The two rooms I was offered were grubby and worn. The damp and grubby smell was masked by strong air freshness. The family room was small and very claustrophobic and the...

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
