I sometimes wonder when reading other reviews what some people expect from a 3* hotel at the prices that you pay. We found this hotel more than adequate, rooms were clean and very comfortable, reception staff were friendly and very helpful recommending good sights to see. The location was superb and the views were lovely. Breakfast was traditional continental, ok... More

We were charged £200 Euros a night for a dirty average room, that had not had the bed sheets changed, or the bathroom cleaned. The previous visitors hair was in the bed, and the bathroom was to say the least in a deplorable dirty state, the cleaner must have been off that day!!!. The receptionist in the morning appeared fine,... More

I stayed at this hotel after a business trip at the Hilton Diagonal Mar Hotel which I believed was far too expensive and too far out from the main town. I chose this Hotel 54 Barceloneta due to the reviews on here and I wasn't disappointed. I was travelling alone so I wanted a cheap hotel close to the centre... More

This hotel is hard to find from the street. No parking around. On a very busy street. Very noisy. The hotel itself is noisy inside too. Floors are noisy. Thin walls you hear EVERYTHING. Beds are lumpy, springy and hard. The corridors are painted in a very gloomy dark grey (feels like an army barrack) no light. No breakfast. No international TV... More

Stayed 2 days post cruise and selected this hotel because of it's small size and location to the beach. The location did not not disapoint. The room was small but had a good size bthrm and a small balcony giving the room a charming touch. The view from the balcony was incredible as you could see the port, the hub... More

this hotel probably fits a 3 star quality, oficially, however, it could easily be more than that. small, trendy , good location, clean and practical. The Reception desk is very helpful as well.

We've spent a week at his hotel during the Merce festival (September). The location was ideal to visit Barcelona, as we were 2 minutes away from the Barceloneta beach and about 15 minutes from Las Ramblas. During our stay, we didn't even have to take the metro, as our hotel was located in a central location. The location couldn't have... More

Very modern hotel, situated just a few minutes from the beach. Fantastic roof terrace. Room was very small, with very little storage space (1 small single wardrobe), although had a fair size bathroom. Walls were very thin making it easy to hear conversation from next door! Would recommend, but for no more than a 2 night stay as limited space... More

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighbourhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
