As others have stated the facilities and rooms are ok but this hotel is massively let down by the design and construction of the rooms. A full height atrium acts as a giant echo chamber and carries all the noise from reception up to every floor. The paper thin walls also let you hear everyone and everything in the adjoining...

We thought we booked a 4* hotel, but according to the Spanish Hotelstar system it was rather a 3* hotel - no security box in the room. It cost 5,50 € per day!; no bar or restaurant (only a coffee machine in the lobby). On the website it said that the double terrasse room should be between 20-31 m2. Including...

We asked for quiet room, got room on 5th floor and you'd swear the room was outside on ground floor. Extremely noisy location. Wall inside are paper thin and can hear every cough. Staff on reception could be more welcoming and a smile would certainly help. Best thing about hotel is location but I find it hard to recommend for...

Nice, clean and well equiped rooms, very big bed. Loved the shower. A bit sad, but rooms aren't really soundproof. Breakfast very tastefull. Good location. Easy connection with airport thanks to new metroline.

The hotel ticks all the boxes on cleanliness, location and cost. You really need to come prepared to get a disrupted sleep or wear ear plugs. Every noise from people talking in reception to walking up the stairs can be heard.

Hotel is very easy to miss. Ive missed it several times during the day and evenings. The rooms are clean, just as you would expect. The reception staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel itself is very modern, a nice design. The pool is small, but you expect that with an inner city hotel. A close distance between 2 metro...

I loved our stay at this hotel. I travelled with my husband and my parents. Having read previous reviews about street noise, I had requested a room overlooking the courtyard, and we were not bothered with external noise at all. The public areas of the hotel are lovely and spacious, there is free water/coffee machine and fruit available during the...

Having read previous reviews I was apprehensive however totally exceeded expectations. Great location. Room with a balcony on fifth floor. Accommodation excellent. Modern clean and spacious. Noise not an issue. Good choice at breakfast. Pool area charming and would be great in the summer.

Just returned from 3 days in Barcelona, partner was doing the marathon and spent couple days after enjoying the city. Hotel was great, beautiful building, really lovely rooms although they were really hot and didn't seem to have air conditioning - unless you wanted hot air. We had breakfast included which was a continental breakfast and very good. We asked...

Stayed for a weekend. Excellent location next to Rambla, stylish rooms and decent breakfast gave the points. But if you want to sleep in the night, don't book this hotel. No soundproofing at all, you can hear all sounds from the nearest floors. The air conditioning did not work, so it was too hot to sleep as well. The reception...

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
