Stayed for a weekend. Excellent location next to Rambla, stylish rooms and decent breakfast gave the points. But if you want to sleep in the night, don't book this hotel. No soundproofing at all, you can hear all sounds from the nearest floors. The air conditioning did not work, so it was too hot to sleep as well. The reception...

No one can takeaway the sheer beauty from the classic arcitecture that parades up the central stairwell of the Onix Liceo. The reception staff are helpful and speak a good level of English, the cleaning staff were distant and unengaging. The real dissapointment however is the internal construction of the rooms. The walls are thin and the building echos. If...

Lovely hotel just off La Rambla. As others have said, the walls are very thin (we heard a couple really enjoying themselves in the next room!) but that's probably the only criticism I would have. Comfortable and decent breakfast. The location makes the one drawback worthwhile. Would definitely stay here again.

Brilliant location, very central. Decor inside hotel was lovely. Love the staircase. Staff friendly. Breakfast was ok. Not much hot choice and croissants etc ran out and weren't replaced. One of the days totally tipped down with rain and was a little disappointed that none of the TV channels were English :-( Nice sometimes to just chill and watch a...

Very good location for being moment from La Rambla (if that is where you want to be). On the 'seedier side' of town if you turn right out the hotel - except you wouldn't notice probably as everything is to the left. Impressive entrance and an overall modern feel to the hotel. However, rooms were noisy, slightly faded and marked...

Very comfy, big bed, good sized room and great location. Breakfast buffet was simple but adequate. We got a bit warm during night but air con was not on as it was winter. I'd definitely go back! If you need a bath then only one room has one.

This hotel carries 4 stars. On entering, the reception is spacious, clean and well presented and the front of house team really do make you feel welcome. The large airy feeling extends throughout the street level. The first surprise comes when you are offered coffee or tea adjacent to the swimming pool but milk is not available - on asking...

The Hotel Liceo was fantastic. First, its location is wonderful. It is near the Palau Güel, so we can approach the city center very easily. Second, its service is so good, too. Besides its minibar, it offers the water and coffee for free at the ground floor.

I’ve staied in this hotel for 5 night for NY’s Eve. It is located close to Rambla and the Metro, on a small street, but the neighboorhood is quite bad populated during nightime. For this reason, they keep the hotel door closed most of the time. Even if it seems a newly renovated structure, it is the noisiest hotel I’ve...

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
