I have travelled a fair bit not just in Europe but Australia, New Zealand, America and I can say with some certainty that Barcelona is my favourite city. We've been there a few times now and have already booked a trip for 2011. Each time...More
Just got back from a 3 night stay at the sunotel central Barcelona. On arrival you find that none of the staff speak good English and that, to be honest, they are all a bit miserable. If you suffer from claustrophobia you will get a...More
Having read some of the previous reviews of the hotel I was a little concerned as to what I would find when I arrived there. I should not have worried. The hotel is ideally located with only a 10-15 minute walk to Las Ramblas. Yes...More
I am writing to advise you of certain details about our stay at the Sunotel,in Barcelona, of which I am far from happy.

Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day
forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.

on arrival we got off the bus at Catalunya and we had a bit of a walk to find our hotel . What I would suggest is that you get off the stop before at the University . Walk up the Carrer Muntaner until it meets Carrer Valencia . The hotel is just round the corner. Easiest way to get around the attractions is to get the metro at Hospital Clinic which is five minutes away . It is by far the best way to see everything . When you get on the aerobus you will be given a free map of the city which is really helpful to see where everything is . Hope you have a wonderful time 😊
