It's a centric hotel with a decent sized room with balcony. The room was clean but a bit outdated and simple. The breakfast was a serve yourself, and was ok to but nothing special. In general the personnel was professional, with some exception. The location is perfect, in the center and a 10 minutes walk of the station.

Dear Mr Alexgold1982, Thanks a lot for your time and your comments. It's great to know that you enjoyed your stay. In general, we're agree with your comments, we're a 3 stars hotel without luxes. We try to get a good relation quality/rate for our guests. Of course that we're interested to offer a absolutely great experience in Hotel Lauria but we know that we're a 3 stars hotel then, we prefer that your global Experience in Tarragona will be great and and we contribute by offering a hotel with an excellent location and the correct facilities to enjoy 100% of our fantastic city. We could be more luxurious but we understand that our clients are those who are looking for something more than a hotel, they are really looking for an extraordinary destination with the right accommodation. About the staff I'm so sorry if you had any inconvenience with some of us, we work hard daily to offer our guest the best but, of course, we aren't perfect. Maybe he/she had a bad day... Just in case, sorry. Regards, ELOY CAPDEVILA Manager HOTEL & APARTMENTS LAURIA

The location of the hotel could not be better: only 5 min walk from the train station, and a 100 meters from the main view point. Plenty of cafe/shops/restaurants nearby. The room was very basic. A bed, a tv, table/night stand. The furniture was rather outdated and a bed was hard. The bathroom was very small, with no counter to put you toiletries on (very irritating). The wifi did not exist in a room, I had to go to the bathroom (that had an airshoute) to be able to catch a signal. Not acceptable in 21 century. The room was rather dark and the towels were hard and tired. Breakfast was ok, but nothing to write home about. It was ok for the money I paid (february rates were not that high), but honestly, I would not stay here again.

Room was spacious but outdated and dark. The beds are hard and I got a rash from the cleaner used for the sheets. The reception staff not terribly friendly, unfortunately and quite unhelpful when I got there after hours and was uncertain ho to access the hotel reception. Quite a disappointment.

I booked two nights at Hotel Lauria. Upon arriving (from the train station which is five minutes uphill aided by escalators), I was impressed with the facade, but disappointed to find the inside undergoing a major renovation. There was dust and debris everywhere, not to mention the noise from the construction equipment. I had a ground floor room tucked away in the far back corner. My room was sizable, but dated and pretty dark - poor lighting. There were two single beds - the one I slept on was quite hard. The bathroom was clean but the tub/shower was so high up I couldn’t even begin to imagine someone with physical limitations trying to climb inside. During the daytime my room was cold, but at night the heat was on and quite warm - there is a radiator, but no way to control heat - it seemed only to go on at night. I had the ‘desayuno express’ for 3 euros which was fine. Breakfast room was bright and clean with a friendly and attentive attendant working. Location is excellent - right on Rambla Nova and just steps from the lovely Mediterranean Balcony. I’d be curious to see how this hotel turns out after renovation is complete. There is tremendous potential here.

Dear backpacker31, Thanks a lot for your time and your comments. It's great to know the opinion about your stay. Just in case I'd like to clarify two points: 1. During your stay we had two works in the hotel: - The first one (the picture that you've added) was because we had a we had a jam in dirty water pipes then we had to work urgently. We know that the situation wasn't the best but we couldn't change it. Now, I can confirm you that this matter is solved and now everything is ok. - The second one is because we're renovating the balconies from a side of the hotel. These works will take more time but all the rooms situated in the works zone are closed and all guests are far from this zone. These works are in the exterior and this situation hasn't to be a problem for our guests. 2. Your commented how was your room. I just would like to inform you that you booked our cheapest room, the standard room. This kind of room is situated in the ground-floor without balcony and all their are with twin beds. We also have the Deluxe/Superior Rooms. These rooms are renovated recently and all are in the superior floors. With this option you can get rooms with a queen bed or rooms with twin beds. In this case, we always try to get the requests of our guests. Just to finish, say you again thanks for your comments and also, for your comments about breakfast. I'll inform to the breakfast attendant. Thanks a lot a bye!!!!
