The lovely city of Ceuta stands between two seas. And gazing out at them from a spectacular spot is the Parador, a modern building abutting the ancient Royal Walls, located in the center of the town. The vaults of the former artillery depot were erected on top of the walls. Today they have been converted into fantastic hotel suites. The Parador de Ceuta is a modern building surrounded by a garden of magnificent palm trees, with a swimming pool enveloped by the breeze from the sea just a few meters away. The building and decor reveal obvious Arab and Andalusian influences. You will love details such as the lamps and the bright guest rooms.

We visited in September 2020, at a tiime when the Spanish tourist industry was afflicted the the coronavirus pandemic. The situation was exascerbated by the decision of Bonkers B**tard Brexit Boris's to requiire UK holidaymakers returning from Spain to undergo 14 days quarantine. This measure has devastated the Spansh Tourist Industry.. As far as Andalucia is concerned it is totally unwarranted. The SARS2-Covid19 infection rate in Andalucia is the lowest in Spain, and is lower than the UK average. The hotel has a very pleasant rustic Andalucian ambience. It is however an old building and some minor repairs are called for. (e.g. badly fitting internal doors in the guest rooms. The bathroom sink taps could do with replacing. They are stiff and the metal is smooth. If your hands are wet and soapy, they are difficult to adjust. I asked for a room with either a pool view or a sea view. What I actually got was a room with a car park view, and an apology for a sea view. The room did however overlook a military barracks. There was some compensation, because my GF was fascinated, by the military ritual of the last post, which appears to take place between 1930h and 2000h each day.. However she was not fascinated about being woken up by bugles and trumpetting at 0800h. in the morning. The restaurant menu is somewhat restricted, especially if you want to eat fish. However, the food was good, and service was reasonable, except that I had to ask 3 times for salt, pepper and olive oil. The restaurant was also remarkably inexpensive. The biggest drawback with the restuarant is that it does not open for dinner until 2100h. On the day we arrived, this suited us, beause our ferry crossing had been stressful, and we arrived later than expected. However, on subsequent days, this late opening was a drag, and my GF was complaining that she was hungry. I have since learned that most restaurants in Ceuta do not open for dinner until 2030h. This seems to be in contrast to the rest of Andalucia. Car parking was free. There is an entrance from the car park with a luggage ramp, and luggage carts are available for your use. However, the ramp in narrow with 90.degree angles. There is a real risk of the cart falling off the side of the ramp, because the wheels seem determined to do their own thing. The luggage carts are also a tight fit in the eleator. The wi-fi signal in our room was weak. However it was adequate but subject to occasional pauses. If you need a fast connection, avoid rooms at the extremities of the building. .

The hotel location is great, the staff is very friendly, and the services provided are just wonderful. We have been in the hotel for the past few years and on various occasions. We have always enjoyed it and we will certainly come again when time allows it.

The hotel was sort of what I expected. Large suite with balcony. As other reviews have noted the hotel is old and needs an update. So with that expectation in mind the hotel was fine. Clearly busy and popular. Staff efficient and as my son is fluent in Spanish no problems. Breakfast was a plentiful display but not luxurious. Bathroom was not well cleaned but bedroom was fine.

It was always going to be difficult to 'follow' our Tangier Hotel , particularly in Ceuta which is not exactly blessed with good hotels. However I felt that the Paeador should be good. This will be the 10th one I have stayed in and , generally, I find them to be really good. This one is the worst I have stayed in - in terms of needing a refurb ! Architecturally it is not particularly pleasant with a modern parador / hotel building being built right next to ancient walls and sort of incorporating them. Indeed there are supposed to be top end rooms/ suites here that are in the old vaults of the former artillery depot. We couldnt see one on line and there was a suggestion that these rooms are no longer used ??? Anway- the hotel is basic and in need of a refurb- no one would pass it as a 4 star hotel if they visited/ inspected now. The grounds and pool area are really quite pleasant. The bedrooms are dull, poorly furnished and in need of a refurb. The restaurant is pleasant but again quite dated. Food and service was very good, though only spanish is spoken. If this was the first Parador I had stayed in, I would be reluctant to book another! It needs a refurb to reinject life into the place. Expensive for what you get but there isnt alot of choice for hotels in Ceuta.

the location of the hotel is great but sleeping at the back side gives some noise. the staff is very friendly. the hotel is clean but some modernization could use it. the staff will gladly help you if you need something and they will arrange it for you.
