Back again (better of local available hotels, which saddens me). Having to sleep with window wide open in 58F temperatures because room is too warm. No air circulation. Arrived back to room at 4:30 PM (after being gone for 9 hours) to a dirty room. Room service menu does not indicate time (starts at 2030, no idea when it ends). Staff generally nice

DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE FANCY PROFESSIONAL PICTURES OF THIS HOTEL! For the first time ever we arrived today at this “recommended” (I use the term ‘recommended’ loosely) hotel for a wedding we was attending and checked and promptly checked out! I can only describe the rooms as prision cells having more appealing beds. In our first room we was greeted with and absolutely awful room with steal bed frames, filthy carpets, air con that did not work and a window that didn’t lock even when we tried to lock it. No coffee or tea facilities. To make matters worse you have a choice of either room with a view onto a noisy street or no room with a view! We complained and looked to upgrade to their apparent ‘premium’ room. This was no better. The same poor hard as nails steal bedframe and mattress, carpet was still filthy, and air con while it turned on pumped out hot air. This room did have coffee and tea and an ironing board but still not worth the money. For 4 star the minimum should be coffee and tea in the standard rooms not just premium these days even if you have to request and iron! Unhappy with this we quickly looked around and found a lovely new boutique hotel right opposite. Booked it there and then and checked out within 15 minutes of arriving at the prision cell and checked into to the other hotel! New Hotel Welcoming, modern, bright, fresh and clean! Avoid Hotel Ceuta Puerta de Africa until they bring their hotel up to modern standards! It’s amazing they haven’t done already with such a nice hotels right next door! It’s 2019 and guest have certain expectations not 1969 and awful run down Bed and Breakfast! Oh by the way Breakfast is not included in the prision cell!…
The hotel is located in a nice area, closed to a lot of places to enjoy and eat in Ceuta. However, our room wasn't clean at all. The bathroom was with some hairs. The room was nothing out of the expectation. Hotel staff was friendly and help us during our stay.
My sense was that the hotel is under staffed in reception, maintenance and cafeteria. There was also major street improvement - noisy at all hours - in front of our window. Our room and bathroom seriously lacked charm. At least one picture or photo could liven it up.
