A friend and I stayed at the hotel when we came to a wedding in A Coruña. We loved having a free parking, something which seems to be a luxury in hotels of most cities around the world. We can´t say anything but nice words. The staff were very professional and attentive, the facilities well maintained and the room was silent and we could not hear noise from other rooms or outside. The price was perfect compared to other hotels in other parts of northern Spain. The hotel is located in the middle of a huge mall. This may seem annoying at first but it is very convenient, because you have access to most things you may need to buy during the trip, lots of restaurants, and especailly public transport and taxis to get to town.

We highly recommend this hotel.

We were visiting A Coruna, mainly to see the Tower of Hercules, on our 'to see" list of Spanish World Heritage Sites. We chose the Carris Marineda, partially for the location, and also, it offered a reasonable room rate. We were arriving from Burgos, driving up along Costa Verde, and the hotel was just to the entrance of the city, also it offered an easy access to the city and its sites. The room was more than adequate, nice comfortable beds and a nice "luxurious" bathroom, and, as has been noted, good value for the money. We did not partake in the full breakfast, but chose an abbreviated version. This did not have a set price, probably our request for it an exception. We found this a little pricey for what we ate, but certainly the main breakfast appeared to have ample selection, and I am sure, was appropriately priced. This really is not meant to be a complaint. The checkin went very well , the man at the front desk was very polite, efficient, spoke very good English, and also was very helpful with directions to the sights we wanted to see. The hotel is part of a large shopping centre, we arrived on a Saturday, and next day being Sunday, appeared to be closed. Let me say that this is a modern and very nice hotel, and, oh yeah, good, free wifi. (A need nowadays).
The one tip that I can suggest, beforehand, is to find out the directions on where to park your vehicle. This is of course relevant, particularly, if you are driving in like we were. We could find the entrance to the hotel, but there is not a drop off zone here, meaning that you cannot park out in front to register or drop off luggage. You must enter the shopping centre underground parkade, once there, it is an easy matter to find the hotel designated parking and the elevator that takes you up to main floor lobby area. Of course, once this is realized, as in our case, everything is easy and actually, very straight forward!
This is nice hotel to make your base, whether you are just visiting as a tourist, or, perhaps here on business. We, unfortunately, did not have enough time to spend in A Coruna. We enjoyed the Tower of Hercules, a well worthwhile visit, but there is so much more to see. This is a very eye worthy and well appointed city, natural beauty, and certainly al the faculties for the tourist needs. There is beautiful history here and for summertime relaxing, some very appealing beaches!
I have to make one unrelated comment. We had driven quite a few "miles" the last 2 weeks on Spain's roads. I must say, Spain has a very impressive highway system, they don't go over mountains, they go through them. River valley, coastal inlet, no matter how deep or wide, they build a bridge that spans evenly across. This, I found very impressive, it is too bad that here in Canada, they seem to struggle with that. Good job, Spain!

P.S. I think that while staying at the Carres, leave your car, and take public transport, less hassle.

Nice location in or at a shopping centre. Room was decent and clean. Bed was good.
There was a desk but unfortunately no proper chair so working was not comfortable.
Bathroom has only a bath so taking a shower means staying in the bath with is not the safest option.
Wifi is good.
Breakfast is sufficient.
Parking is possible in the shared parking area under the shopping centre and hotel so direct acces to the hotel.

The hotel is in good condition and the rooms are very comfortable. The problem is that the service is exceptionally poor. The Hotel is apparently geared towards business travellers which is why I booked it, however, I had a major problem trying to iron my shirt as no ironing facilities are provided for guests. I was told by the reception that a member of staff would iron my shirt for me yet they arrived to work late (after 8.30) which meant that I had to go to an important meeting with a crumpled shirt.

The rooms was clean and nice, the AC was left on in the room before my arrival, so it was cool and nice. Good location quiet and clean. Not my first stay, finally one of the ladies at the reception spoke good English, I mean everyone is super nice but most cant fully express themselves in English, and its basic things... The new girl helped out with English and explained perfectly everything. The hotel seamed to be full, but at the same time the restaurant staff was efficient and very polite. Would definitly keep coming.

After reading some of the reviews regarding difficulties parking I arrived at night feeling somewhat apprehensive, with visions of driving around until the wee hours trying to find my way. I needn't had worried, one quick call to the hotel before setting off from the airport was all it took. Access 2, which is in front of the hotel immediately after coming off the main road. Once inside there were clear visible signs directing you to the hotel's spaces on level 1.

The hotel itself was immaculate, a good sized, quiet room with comfortable bed, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, a relaxing experience after a long day travelling, and would highly recommend it.

This hotel was centrally located and also located steps away from Marineda City Mall. The mall has a whole floor dedicated to different types of food (open until 1am!) and also has bowling, go carting and other activities for a family. Free parking in the mall with a private elevator to the hotel and the hotel rooms were very clean! There were 2 downsides of the hotel however. First, the wifi signal was very weak from inside the rooms. Second, there is a glass window that separates the shower....to the actual room. You can see right into the bathroom from the beds! There is a curtain that can be pulled down-from the bed side-but that is completely see through too! Definitely awkward if you're sharing a room with family or friends...

We chose this hotel for the free parking as we were hiring a car at the airport. Please note, that it is extremely difficult to find the parking for the Marineda Centre and you are advised to ask the hotel for directions/parking. Our GPS could not find it as the Centre is new, so do make use of the hotel’s information. The directions were in Spanish but luckily, one of us is fluent!

A pleasant welcome and a second floor room, about as far away from the lifts as was possible. Not much of a view out of the back and towards the signage for El Corte Ingles and Hipercor. However, the room was spacious and nicely furnished. There was a large bathroom and good quality toiletries. We had a small fridge and a safety deposit box

Breakfast was quite good – not lavish but more than adequate. We also had a meal in the restaurant on our first night – again, nothing special, not a huge choice, but not bad for a hotel. Pleasant service.

Having finally parked the car, we did not want to move it again to explore A Coruna, so made use of the No 11 bus, which stops outside the hotel - very convenient.

This is a modern hotel with large rooms and free parking, but quite a way from A Coruna centre. Although there are fast food cafes in the Marineda Centre, there are no real restaurants, so unless you are prepared to eat in the hotel, you will need to return to A Coruna centre to enjoy a good meal.

The bargain room rates were what attracted me in the main, and the fact that I got to explore the largest shopping mall in Spain into the bargain. Well, I never could resist a chance to look at things I can't afford. I flew into A Coruna, picked up my beautiful Mercedes hire car, programmed the data into the sat nav and off I went. That's where things came unstuck because there is NO signposting as to which exit you need to take to get to the Carris Marineda and their web site it utterly useless at providing any meaningful guidance - like maybe a simple map. In the end after three attempts I just parked anywhere in the vast car park and set off on foot to find my way to the hotel. Some kind lady took pity on me and escorted me out of the shopping mall and towards the hotel. I was, at last, home. Then at reception I got told off for leaving my car in a non-approved parking bay and a very animated phone conversation took place. I could not be bothered to start all over again as I was exhausted so I just left it where it was. The next day the receptionist drew me a very basic, highly understandable map showing which exit I needed to take to arrive at the hotel parking area. This immensely valuable drawing will be on eBay shortly as it will be prized more highly than gold for anyone planning to travel to the Carris Marineda for the first time.

Having arrived my first impressions were that it was stark and unwelcoming. It is one of those hotels that doesn't really major on public spaces. The reception area is very utilitarian and the little (very little) cafe/bar area alongside it was deserted. As indeed was the restaurant when I went up there a little later starving hungry. When I say 'deserted' I don't just mean no diners, I mean no staff. I had to go back to reception and query whether or not it was actually open. When I did return to eat my order of monkfish carpaccio was still semi frozen and inedible. So I drank my glass of corked wine (too tired to complain plus there was no one to raise the query with) and went to bed more than a little underwhelmed.

The room was comfortable, the bed the size of a football pitch, and the curtain completely light excluding which met with my approval. The bathroom smelled bad and when the cleaners come in they leave the light and extractor running to try and mask this - it's basically musty and poorly ventilated. Hated the picture window from bathroom to bedroom - who wants their partner watching them taking a - well, I think you see what I mean. I was grateful I was travelling solo and can see that corporate sharers might find that degree of intimacy a bit too much for a business trip. The facilities in the room were fine, the bed was a little firm for my back, the pillows were good. There is reliable wifi, unlike many places making that claim.

I have scored the Carris Marineda an 'average' mark with a large degree of reluctance. I wanted to go for 'very good' because the reception staff were wonderful, spoke excellent English, and really could not have been more helpful towards this daft English woman on her first visit to Galicia - and of course the value for money was very good - but this hotel is supposed to be 4* and there were a number of things that really did let it down. Not being able to find the car park due to inadequate signage and web data is something that could be so easily resolved and comments here suggest that this is an issue for most people not just me. The restaurant was a let down, and the general morgue-like feeling was a bit depressing really. I think it's just a very dull place to stay and I like a bit of atmosphere, a bit of a buzz, a bit of life. This is no fault of the staff, it is the fault of the design of the building. So the verdict is good value if you just want somewhere to lay your head and have the patience of a saint when it comes to navigation, but don't expect ambiance because it's been totally designed out of it.
