Small family run hotel. Great location with everything in easy walking distance. Great welcome from the family. Small rooms, rather dark. Ours was furnished in dark brown. Shower en suite but all very compact. Generally very clean although brown marks on my bottom sheet. Only one pillow. Breakfast adequate. Lots of hot coffee. Fresh bread. Fried egg. Croissants came in... More

Overall would highly recommend! Definitely would stay again. Location is perfect right next to the old town and our room had a lovely view of the cathedral. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was clean and cosy. FYI the double beds have one long thin 'pillow' which is for both people which I found quite weird but... More

Rooms are very small and basic. Not well sound proofed as well. There is a parking nearby and the receptionist lady was very helpfull although not speaking English. Breakfast is typical and served until 11. Not worth the 70 euros per night though.. However you are at Santiago De Compostela & rates are high in general.

Back again in Santiago after another Camino and of cause we wanted to stay at Alfonso since we enjoyed it so much the last time in October 2014. The hosts are absolute wonderful, so friendly and helpful. The location is central but not in the very middle, meaning that it´s easy to access even by taxi if needed. This time... More

Very warm welcome. Great location close to old town and across the road from beautiful park. Magnificent view of cathedral from room 201. The hosts go out of their way to help. Room was not ready on our return from Camino and we were seated in patio area , offered beer, coffee and then a glass of Rioja while we... More

We stayed here for three nights. The owners and their son were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good, with toast and fresh made eggs. The room was comfortable and had a nice view of the cathedral. The hotel is a short walk from the old town and cathedral. Would definitely recommend 100%!!

My friend and I stayed here for 2 nights after completing the Camino Frances. It is run by a very sweet family who took great care of us! I love family run places! Our room was adorable. We loved it! The breakfast is excellent. The location is good, about a 10 minute walk to the Cathedral. The beds were comfortable.... More

The owners of this small hostel are the most welcoming, friendly and helpful people and they do speak some English. The rooms are small but well equipped and comfortable, very cosy with lots of wood and a beamed ceiling. Our room (201) had a beautiful view of the cathedral which was only 5 mins. walk away, as were all the... More

It's true what you read on TA about this small family run hotel. I spent hours searching websites for the best reasonably priced place to stay by myself in terms of price, location, quality of service, room size, quality of bed, bathroom fixtures and toiletries, breakfast variety (including fresh fruit and juice), decor, staff kindness, and an inclusive guest policy,... This is a very nice small hotel, absolutley fantastic owners who will do everything for their guests. Nice breakfast, the rooms are clean with nice decorations but very small and that would be the only small minus for this wonderful place. Great price, perfect location and wonderful owners!
