After made a booking at last minute, both of them they were really kind and solicitous. Few minutes after made my request , I called impatiently to the hotel and Mario was already reading my email, kindly and thoughtful he made our night. Thanks lads !! 100% recomendable
Hoel is beautiful, service is excellent, has Spa on location, rooms good, the only thin about it os that is far from city center. That night not be a handicap for many, but in our case, visiting the region driving, we like the fact to stay in a hotel that we can walk to city center let's say 15 min is OK. But this was 12-15 min by taxi. Other than that the place is wonderful.
The truth of the matter is that I feel badly rating this property 'average' as the staff were great, especially helping me out of a crisis when I left my passport and wallet behind in the safe. For that I would give a rating of 3 and a half. The property is stunning and the restaurant is beautiful. The view from the terrace is lovely and the onsite parking is very convenient. In those areas this hotel clearly measures up to 5 star status. Unfortunately it was very lacking in other areas. The food is mediocre and expensive. There are great restaurants throughout Galicia for far less cost. The location, while quiet and serene is about an hours walk into Casco Vello aka the old town. True you could take your car or hail a taxi, but then you have to deal with parking and/or additional cost. The room itself, while large, was lackluster and lacked basic amenities. I requested an extra pillow and blanket. I received the blanket. Usually in a 5 star hotel (even 4 star) you can usually find an extra blanket and pillow in the closet. Also- I was really surprised that there wasn't a tea kettle or coffee maker in the room. We also only received bottled water when we checked in. We supplied our own water. Every other place we stayed in Spain from 3 to 5 star properties, (we traveled over 2000 miles!) provided water in the rooms. The bathroom was a nice size, but the shower leaked water all over the floor. Basically we stayed here by default as there was a huge fish convention throughout Galicia and the places we considered staying at were booked. We were happy to discover Pazo Los Escudos had availability so we took a risk. Unfortunately it just wasn't right for us.…
We stayed here for for nights and in truth could have stayed longer! The hotel is not in the centre of vigo (near the port) although we did manage to walk to the port on one occasion (it would be a 10-15 min taxi ride). The staff in the hotel were very friendly and helpful, providing maps when requested. We were in the new part of the building, our room was beautiful with a lovely sea view and unexpected balcony with seating. Very large comfortable bed and huge bathroom. We had spa access and were lucky enough to have the spa to ourselves on two visits, on the last day it was quite busy (approx 4-5 couples) which did make the experience less enjoyable as it is quite small - the ladies in the spa reception were very friendly and booking a time slot was easy. We didn’t use the outdoor pool but it looked beautiful. Breakfast was fabulous, lots of choice including freshly cooked eggs and freshly squeezed orange juice. Breakfast staff were again very helpful and friendly. We found a few good walks in the area and the beaches nearby are beautiful. We ate in the hotel restaurant one night which was pleasant but preferred to walk into bouzas (approx 10 minutes) which was full of great bars and restaurants. Parking in the underground car park was free. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel.…
Beautiful service from start to finish. Lovely spacious and well decorated rooms with excellent sea views. Both breakfast and dinner were super and the attentive service was noted. We would stay again if in the area. Lovely sandy beach nearby, but this hotel made our stay in the area a wonderful experience.
