How this is a four star is beyond me Words fail at poor quality food. The steak was less than 6 oz and very tough Ask for French fries and you get huge wedges of burnt potato. A place to avoid. Not good value for money Only decent thing was wine list

6 of us dropped in for lunch. The restaurant was empty except for a table with three acquaintances of ours. Despite that it took more than 20 min to be seated and the table staff were not as friendly as we have experienced elsewhere in Spain. But the food was good to excellent, as was the wine selection. Gazpacho was... More

Old historic building, nice antiques in the public spaces, nice roofed courtyard good for a drink or tea, very good food in the restaurant, Rooms are fine but a little shopworn. AC didn't work that well. Front desk staff untrained in the etiquette of welcome.

Beautiful old building a short walk from the square. Spacious room with one of the most comfortable beds I've slept on. Very friendly and helpful staff. We ate in the restaurant on our first evening, the food was excellent and the young woman who served the wines was very knowledgable. Parking cost €15 per day, but it was worth it.... More

The room was a decent size, the bed was really comfortable, the décor was in good condition, and it had a really good bathroom too. Once you close the window blind and then the blackout curtains, you will get a really good nights sleep. We had breakfast included and that is a decent buffet style with cereal, fruit, bread, ham,... I emailed the hotel a few times before arrival (child policy, connecting rooms) and they were very responsive. The hotel is right across from hotel arrope and it's really close to the town square (plaza). There's not much going on at Haro, it's a quiet town. We stayed one night to visit some wineries. Breakfast was very good. The rooms... More

We came here for dinner for both of our nights in Haro even though we didn't stay at the hotel. All courses and food we had were delicious. English menu and kid's menu available which are big pluses! Excellent wine selection featuring some rare vintages. Beautiful atmosphere!

Driving through La Rioja we visited Haro. After a nice wine tasting experience at Muga Bodegas (in English) we had lunch in the restaurant of this hotel, a tip from our lonely planet guide. These are the hidden gems I like so much. On the outside just a door you would normally walk past, leading to a fabulous inside. A... More

One of the great things about Spain is getting to stay in fabulous historical buildings and the 14C former convent and prison doesn't disappoint in that regard. The rooms were spacious, clean and very quiet. There was a wedding party in the cloister restaurant in the late afternoon / early evening but inside our room you wouldn't have known. As... More

We found the hotel to be spectacular, it gives you the feeling of being in a Parador but you are not. Restaurant, bar, lobby and courtyard are all very comfortable and cozy. The rooms were very nice and clean and the staff was extremely helpful. We have stayed in this hotel twice. It has a great location to see Haro's... More
