We travelled to Spain for the first time and stayed at the Gran Hotel Ingles during the first few days of our stay. It was a wonderful experience! To begin, the hotel was simply beautiful as was our room and we enjoyed every meal that we had while staying there. If that was the extent of our experience we would probably rate the Gran Hotel Ingles a 4.5. But what really made a difference and pushed the hotel well over a 5 was the service we received from the hotel staff. Each person we encountered was amazing!!! We traveled with my service dog, Bailey. While walking to our connecting flight on the way to Madrid, Bailey cut his paw pad on the moving walkway. Noria, part of the concierge team found us a veterinarian and made us an appointment. The hotel sent Sandros (another hotel staff member) with us to the vet to translate, ensuring we received the best care, because neither my significant other nor I speak Spanish. Additionally, Noria assisted with the planning of many excursions during our stay, recommended the BEST restaurants for us, and simply made our time in Madrid wonderful. She was exceptional! The staff members graciously and warmly addressed us by name (despite the many hotel guests), frequently asked about Bailey and his overall health, and met our every need. Even extending breakfast when we overslept and arrived after breakfast was over. I wish I could rate the Gran Hotel Ingles more than a five star.

Had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Coming from the states, we were unfamiliar with this property but liked the location and all of the reviews. The photos from the hotel and those posted by travelers also helped to make this decision. Gran Hotel Ingles is EXACTLY as described. The level of service is something you’d find in a Four Seasons or an Aman Resort - for way less per night. The on-site restaurant (our room came with breakfast) and the lobby bar are very upscale and attract the same caliber crowd. Our room was well appointed; the bedding was super luxurious and the shower was heavenly, rain shower included. All in all, I’d choose this hotel again without hesitation, even after the neighboring Four Seasons opens for business. Well done, Gran Hotel Ingles!

We stayed for two nights over the weekend and had a fantastic stay.

From check in (we were given a complimentary room upgrade) to checking out, everything was great. The staff were helpful and couldn’t do enough for us.

The rooms really are beautifully appointed with great attention to detail and the bed/pillows were so comfortable.

We enjoyed drinks at the bar. The actual drinks were incredible but service a little slow. But hey we were on holiday!

Breakfast on the first morning was excellent. The food quality and the service. Constantly topping our drinks up and asking if there was anything else we needed. Sadly on Sunday morning it was poor. We had to ask 3 times for coffee (25 minutes later and after we’d eaten breakfast) before it arrived. We saw other guests having the same issue. Drinks were not topped up and the service was slower so I guess they were having a bad day.

All in all its a beautiful hotel, great staff in a wonderful central location and we will certainly return.

We stayed in Gran Hotel Ingles for 4 nights in August and it was simply amazing.

From the moment we arrived the service was outstanding, concierge provided us with a list of their favorite tapas and local spanish restaurants in the area which were walkable and every recommendation was top notch and reasonable priced.

The hotel itself was pure luxury, we stayed on the 1st floor (room 102 I think) with a small balcony which was awesome and felt we got the try European Madrid experience. Our room was gorgeous and pure luxury, comfory bed, stunning bathroom... just amazing.

The location of the hotel is in a prime area of Madrid, walkable to all the sites and shopping areas - I am so glad we ended up booking here. We felt safe walking at night and everything is well lit and lots of people around.

We had a drink in the lounge several times and it was so beautiful and the cocktail menu was extensive and the bar tender who clearly a trained professional - delicious cocktails - thankyou !

I would definately recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Madrid.

Great choice if you want a more boutique hotel experience vs the “grand” hotels that are on Madrid’s main boulevards. Staff is warm and incredibly helpful - first rate recommendations on restaurants and sites to explore, plus accommodating special room requests.

Location is “hidden” in a small street - so not a grand location and views from room are not interesting. But location is walking distance to the major sites and lively at night.

The rooms are modern and stylish - nice gym. Could use a few area rugs to warm up rooms.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the Grand Hotel Ingles. The staff was extremely helpful, kind and attentive. They genuinely cared about their guests and helped us with every need. The design of the modernized classic hotel is now contemporary, luxurious and very comfortable. The bathrooms are spacious and modern with all the right amenities.
We want to duplicate the bed at home including the pillow menu with several choices. The shower beats most Four Seasons Hotels - large, modern and designed with subtle accent lighting and a nice big overhead rain shower. We will definitely return to this hotel. It is our new home in Madrid!

The hotel is located in a perfect area of Madrid close to all of the important sights to see. Our room was very clean and comfortable and the staff was very helpful, friendly and professional. Our flight from the US arrived in Madrid at 6:35 a.m. and when we booked our room we paid a very fair extra price to be able to check into our room at the Hotel upon arrival. This enabled us to take showers, have breakfast and power through our first day of jet lag which got our 45 day trip to Europe off to a great start. We will definitely stay at this hotel again when we visit Spain in the future.

Also our rainfall showers are the best to begin with your day. The Gran Hotel Ingles was a true pleasure!
Let us count the ways... "Service with a Smile" seems to be a hotel motto; the staff - at reception, the concierge, at the restaurant - was extremely courteous and pleasant. We had a problem with the safe box in our room - and it was promptly solved. The breakfast is rich in variety and in flavor. The room is well lit, the wifi speedy and the rain shower intoxicating. And the hotel is located in a central (minutes by foot from Puerto del Sol), yet quiet street. We were truly sad to leave.

In a nutshell, our stay at Gran Hotel Ingles on the final leg of a 10-day trip through Spain was the frosting on the cake of a fantastic trip! The hotel is tucked down a relatively quiet lane very near the Gran Via, and one likely wouldn’t expect to find a 5-star retreat there unless looking for it. It’s an exquisitely beautiful space, and the rooms are exceptional in terms of comfort and updated design; however, what really propels the Gran Hotel Ingles to the next level is the service…genuinely warm, attentive and enthusiastically accommodating. Every staff member we encountered, from reception, to the bellhops, concierges, and bar and breakfast team members went out of their way to demonstrate an earnest desire to be of service. Special kudos and gratitude to Sara Grajera, the front office manager, and Sandro, the bellhop extraordinaire, both of whom were extremely helpful when it came to selecting the best available room, making restaurant recommendations, and arranging for transportation. Alba in the dining room was a ray of sunshine each morning at breakfast (which was fantastic!), and Alex for his expert mixology skills and friendly and convivial conversation (along with Dee) during happy hour. All of these folks, and so many others (lest we not forget to mention the wonderful housekeeping staff who tended to our room twice daily) are such great ambassadors for the hotel and really the fabric of what sets the Gran Hotel Ingles apart from so many other 5-star properties. We cannot wait to return!

Look no further and book your reservation at this excellent luxury hotel! You will receive a very warm welcome from the staff, including a glass of cava and a sweet treat while you check in. The rooms are spotless and maintained that way throughout our entire stay. The bathrooms are really spacious, and every detail has been considered (for example, the housekeeping staff re-wrapped the hair dryer cord neatly in the storage bag after each use). Nightly turn-down service include other small and much-appreciated amenities, such as bottled water (Madrid is a very dry city). The hotel is in the perfect location for exploring the city and walking to great restaurants in the evening, yet it's very quiet in your room each night. We enjoyed relaxing over very creative cocktails in the lobby bar each evening. The service here is outstanding. Don't hesitate to ask the concierge for referrals to guides for all kinds of tours and restaurants. We ate breakfast each morning in the excellent restaurant, which features an amazing variety of delicious treats. Every single staff member here goes out of his way to answer any questions you have, greet you warmly, and provide assistance. Thank you for a terrific stay!
