This hostel was exactly what I expected and more. The location was PERFECT, staff was incredibly kind, and the room comfortable. When I first booked this hostel, the pictures made me think that the interior would be old and outdated. Boy was I wrong! When we arrived, the room looked exactly how I expected but brand new. The shower looked...

The best view to Gran Via, beautiful corner room, excellent location, nice service and wonderful memories. A few steps from the main sightseeings. I would recommend this place to stay to the travelers.

Having travelled quite extensively this was my first time staying in a hostal. Upon arrival I was warmly greeted by the receptionist who gave advice on places of interest to visit and routes to take. The room was itself was well presented to a good standard with a compact toilet and shower area, both very clean. Each day the room...

The room was clean with two small beds and a clean toilet and shower. The location is the best thing about this hostal with the heart of the city being 2 minutes walk away and it is in a central location for most of the city's tourist hot spots. The staff were very helpful and friendly and I will be...

The room was clean, location was great to see the city, having your breakfast down the street in a restaurant was not the best would have been better if it was closer, the staff was great to deal with and gave out good advise as to where to go and see.

In spite of the construction blocking our view and all night Street noise, we enjoyed our stay. We felt secure and were very comfortable in our clean room. Friendly welcome, comfortable bed, and perfect location for walking almost anywhere. Lots of bars and restaurants on the street to the south and lots of shops to the north. Two metro stations...

Stayed for just one night in July 2016. Nicer decor and facilities than your average hostel, and amazing location! Right on the metro line at Gran Via, which makes getting around Madrid – and also to-and-from the airport – a breeze. A/C worked well, shower quality was good, thoughtful amenities provided like toothbrushes and shower essentials, room was clean and...

Stayed here with two of my friends in May. The rooms are clean, comfortable and well maintained. Everything you need for a few days away. The hotel is located near to McDonald's on the Gran Via which is a great location to explore the city. Especially if you like shopping. The room was reasonably priced for the location and quality....

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
