The hostel is well-situated in the centre of Madrid, however, this can also be considered a disadvantage. The walls are very thin, the area and the hostel (despite sleeping hours) are very loud. The staff is rude (they talked about us believing that we don't...More
Overall very good. Toilets and showers are basic and not ample, but it does the job! For the price I can't complain. I stayed in a mixed dorm and had no issues. Nice big lockers, beds readily made for you. I couldn't check in until...More
By far the best booking I had in Madrid. I'm disappointed I didn't find Las Musas sooner. Slightly off the beaten path but with Plaza Tirso de Molina right around the corner you can navigate effectively from here. More than impressed with the polite, knowledgeable...More

Walking into this neighbourhood is like entering a different country ... except it's hard to tell which one it is. One side of Calle Lavapiés is lined with Indian restaurants, the other with kebab shops. Men in traditional African clothing convene outside their businesses for long chats, and people shout to each other across plazas and streets. Interspersed among ethnic specialty shops are independent theaters and
dance studios, and two large arts and cultural centers — the beautiful Casa Encendida and the Tabacalera, a former tobacco factory — all of which attract young crowds. Along Calle Argumosa, the place to go for drinks, artists and art appreciators with piercings and dreadlocks convene in the street’s eclectic array of young, hip bars. Though some of the side streets can get a little seedy at night, Lavapiés is still the place to go for those seeking a unique blend of arts and culture in an international and funky neighbourhood.
Can you please let me know if you have safe and secure lockers available for laptops and important luggage?
Also, is the internet actually fast and reliable? This is really important as I have to work daily online.

The staff at Las Musas can hold valuable items at the admin office. I used the public PC and they are really fast.
