Stayedhere for 2 nights and it is a good place to stay while on the runand is close to everything! Metro is a few blocks away, bar and restaurant opposite the place. Helpful staff and the place is very very clean and neat. They offer breakfast as well.. We had our own shower in the room but the toilets are...

Now I'm in my sixties - a woman travelling around the world alone, so what I like is to meet interesting people - and nice people, so staying in flash hotels is boring, fawning, and isolating. Hostels are where you share other people's travels. But I hate dirty places, and I hate rude staff. Woohoo was cleaner than most hotels,...

Can a hostel room be too clean? Ironically, yes. Our bedroom smelled so much like cleaning detergent from the ensuite bathroom that it irritated my throat. Airing out the room for at least half an hour was necessary. The bathroom contained a small shower and an even smaller sink. Washing my face wasn't possible without splashing water over the floor....

We booked this hotel as it was centrally located, easily accessible from metro and was convenient to take a city tour. Hostal provides enough local information which helped us to explore the city. We took a free city walking tour which was very informative and fun exploring the city thereafter. Breakfast options are pretty decent and rooms are chic and...

I stayed here for 3 nights in a 6 person dorm room which included a shower in the room. The hostel is very central and close to metro stations and within walking distance of Sol. I pretty much spent 3 days walking around Madrid from this location and saw all the sights I wanted to without having to take the...

great location, clean room, nice design, daily room make up (superior double room with shower), friendly staff, free luggage storage on departure day! only minus was the very limited space in the public washrooms... breakfast was included but we never took advantage since we preferred the little cafes in chueca right around the corner. great city!!!

I spent one night here on my way to an early morning flight from Barajas. I arrived late at night and left early in the morning, so didn't really see much of the hostel. It's located about five minutes walk from a metro station and is pretty easy to find. The staff were helpful and happy to speak English or...

Great base for sightseeing visit to Madrid. Double room with a shower, the price is a bargain for this location. We could walk to all the places that we were interested in seeing. Very close to metro and about an hour from the airport. Definitely would go back if we wanted to visit Madrid again.

I stayed at woohoo for 9 nights as a single backpacker. Breakfast daily was included and the entire place was super super clean, which is great!!! Staff were really friendly and always happy to help where possible. The location is absolutely perfect, central to just about everything and within 400m of a major metro station if you're wanting to venture...

This hostal is a bargain, there's no denying this. I'd give it 5 stars based on value but I can't quite as the only problem was that there was no toilet in the room. Other than this though this little place is brimming with positives: location, facilities (nice kitchen area with free tea and coffee whenever and adequate cheap breakfast),...

Staying in Malasana

Neighbourhood Profile
Malasana
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighbourhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
