We were a group of four, had a good time in Madrid and this hostel helped a lot with its location. It was clean, had three toilets for clients to use, great staff. The only problem was that we were accommodated in a triple bedroom not for four people.
After checking out we could leave our baggage there till the time of our flight.
:) great experience

The man at reception was very friendly and helpful and the hostal was perfect. Very quiet, very clean. The individual room had no window but a large fan. The room was very hot, but it's Madrid, in August. Everywhere is very hot, and the fan had a cord long enough to be moved closer to the bed. So the heat was totally bearable.
The location is great too. It's next to Plaza Mayor and central to all other amenities.
I'd definitely recommend this hostal. Will definitely book again.

Hot, airless, windowless room. Noisy fan to keep me awake all night and drive me nuts. This place will suit some people who aren’t fussed about confined spaces and are heavy sleepers and you can’t deny €20 a night is a good price. I hated it and left after the first night sacrificing my second. The lady owner is friendly but really shouldn’t ask me “Haven’t you stayed here before?” when responding to my discomfort with the room as though I should know what to expect. It seems like they do alright. Perhaps they should invest in some air conditioning.

The room was 25euros a single room with no window very small with a tv (all spanish channels and radio channels). There was no towels offered although they do cost 1-2 euros each to rent. The room had no heating or air-con. only a heavy blanket.
The place was very noisy throughout the nice and a lot of people waking up early around 6am to start the day and also cleaners started early. I heard buckets been dragged along the floors at 6am or before. Upon checking out I looked under my bed to check if i left anything, the room is not properly cleaned, condom wrappers was found in a single room.. interesting! No cleaning and more than 1 person in this time room with no window is a security risk and unhealthy no matter what.

The only good thing about this place was the location. 5minutes walk max to sol/gran via areas/metro , etc.

Really close to the center, clean and good price. Be careful when you book through their website with a credit card. Check that it is correct, otherwise they will cancel your booking without any other option.

My sisters and I stayed at Casa de La Plaza for two nights while we were in Madrid. I was really impressed with the cleanliness (they cleaned the bathrooms at least once a day, but I think it might have been more than that) and how well we were accommodated by the staff. I didn't think to bring my passport, but as a foreign traveler it was my main source of ID. However, the lady running the front desk worked with me and we got her the information she needed. We also switched rooms for the second night, but were able to stay in our prior room until the new room was ready -- rather than being kicked out at check-out time and allowed to move in at check-in time (a two hour difference). The only complaint I have is that it was pretty hot, but that can't really be helped in August in Madrid (maybe ask for another fan). The location was also perfect for what we wanted and where we wanted to be. It was right next to several stores/shopping centers, tons of restaurants, Plaza Mayor, and within walking distance of big attractions like the Prado and Reine Sofia (art museums) and the Retiro Park.

Really not much to say about this as it's a cheap no frills stay in central madrid. About 30-mins walk to Atocha station (I leant this the hard way)
But right next to plaza mayor and in a good location.

Towels are 1euro to hire and the showers are great!

Rooms small but sufficient. All in all good value for Central madrid.

Staff are very nice and friendly.

Me and two friends rented a triple room for 2 nights. We loved the location (right beside Plaza Mayor and behind the Market San Miguel). The closest metro stop is Plaza de la Sol, making it easy to move around the city and get to the airport if needed. It was extremely clean, the bathrooms were maintained as well. They had amazing pillows and soft sheets. Very cozy little hostel, exactly what you need for a couple nights stay!

They are really close to two metro (subway) stations - Sol and Opera. That would be the best way to get there.
