Overall it was good. It was nice and relaxing, though I mentioned it in my email that we're celebrating our 1st Anniversary, it would have been nice if the hotel could have given something special for that special occasion. The internet connection was also a bit bad. But the rooms, cleanliness, the food, staff etc...they were all excellent!

We stayed here for 3 nights. It was very comfortable and location couldn't have been better. If we have the chance in the future, we'd stay here again. LOCATION – We walked everywhere. You step out the front door right onto the Gran via. The main sights are within easy walking distance. Puerto del Sol is a couple of minutes away, Plaza Mayor (10min), Mercato San Miguel (12-15 min), Prado (15 min), El Retiro Park (15min) and Royal Palace (20min). Shopping was right at our doorstep and the famous shopping street, Calle de Fuencarral was just across the road. GETTING THERE – Taxi from Atoche train station cost €7 SERVICE - Service was friendly and welcoming on arrival. They were consistently helpful over our 3 days and gave us maps and marked out streets and sights for us. A nice touch was large jugs of water in the lobby with fresh lemon or cucumber which was available all day. ROOM - The room was not large, but it was still a decent size and we had enough room for our big suitcases, without having to trip over them. Importantly, it was quiet at night, the bed was comfortable and wifi was free and quick. Equally importantly, there were tea and coffee facilities, with a good selection of tea. The only negative was that I found it a little dark and there was not a lot of natural light. The bathroom was not small or cramped and the shower was particularly nice because it had a large rainfall shower head as well as a hand-held shower. FACILITIES – The bar area was attractive and looks out onto Gran Via at street level. There is also a nice lounge area opposite. Other facilities included a fitness centre and massage/spa but we didn't have time to use these. The pool and terrace area with city skyline view would have been beautiful in summer but it was the wrong time of year for us.

Direct at gran via, but there is no chance to stop the car in front of the hotel. if you travel with car, use underground parking garage not far away at "Calle Alcala". Friendly people at the reception and all over the place. Nice rooms and even with window facing to Gran Via it is not too loud at night. Everything in the city Center is in walking distance. Breakfast buffet with a great variety of fresh food, everybody will be satisfied. The Breakfast is more than worth the price, don't miss it. There is as well a cook to prepare omelettes or other fresh prepared meals according to your wishes and taste. Good bar direct at the entry with view to Gran Via, very friendly people behind the bar, great variety of drinks available for reasonable price. Overall good price ratio for the area. Will be there again for next business trip to spend the nights in town.
