We stayed here for a few days at the end of November. The location was pretty decent for us, and the service was adequate. We found that the hotel room was nice enough for us, nothing fancy (we were only staying in a standard room category). The one problem we had was that (it being quite cold during our stay)...

Overall, a good hotel. Very quiet, as the room had double doors and a double windows. I did not hear any noises from outside or from adjacent rooms, as one often does in Madrid. Breakfast buffet was nice, with quite a variety of items, from Spanish tortilla and cold cuts to fruit and pastries. My only complaint (as a traveler...

We stayed here for a little get away for 3 days and it was very nice. It had all what i expect from a 4 star hotell, except for the English language which seemed to have been put on one person only. The location of this hotel is very nice as well. Gran via is a main street in Madrid...

I went there with my friends two weeks ago, stayed for 4 nights, the hotel has a good location, the rooms are spacious, but it's overrated for a 4 stars hotel, it's definitely a 3 stars one, however one of the receptionist's was very rude and if we were asking her something she never knew anything, plus the rooms were...

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. We needed a room to stay for one night in Madrid before heading out to a wedding elsewhere in Madrid and choose this due to it's great location, good value and it's sauna/hot tub facilities. The reception and bar staff were very friendly, the bedroom had a full length mirror with above light,...

I have stayed here 3 times and it is a good, comfortable, central hotel in Madrid. The rooms are spacious and the facilities are good. There are several good bars, restaurants etc. nearby and it is only a short walk to the main plazas

We hadn't planned to stay here but were transferred by the hotel group when it decided it wasnt going to honour our reservation at the Catalonia Las Cortes. Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
