Love the Ritz Hotel of Madrid. We have stayed there three times now and will return again. The staff is exceptional and the garden with the piano player is just exceptional. The rooms needs upgrading, but the rest of the facilities make it work the stay. We highly recommend it for those who enjoy a level of sophistication.

We stayed for 2 days in Madrid we did not want to leave the hotel. They have a great afternoon tea and very nice atmosphere at the lobby area. Delicious restaurants for tapas and dinner where you could enjoy the piano music while eating. Close to the museums. And very friendly staff. The only thing I did not like is...

I stayed at this hotel over twenty years ago. It still retains its high and exclusive standard. The deluxe room was first class and the meal I had on the terrace was to the highest standard. I thought enjoyed my shirt stay and one that I will look to repeat very soon. The staff were most welcoming and highly professional.

Looking for an easy Beer and Tapas after visiting the Thyssen collection, we passed the Ritz and decided differently! What a great choice to stop here. Being a hotelier myself, it is always a great pleasure to visit a hospitality institute like this and experience triple deluxe hospitality. We enjoyed the garden, the gazpacho concept and a lovely Gin Tonic....

Staying in Paseo del Prado

Neighbourhood Profile
Paseo del Prado
The area around the elegant Paseo del Prado boulevard is much-visited by both locals and tourists. The world-famous Prado, the Reina Sofia, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza museums form a triangle of art and culture that spans this grand and beautiful avenue. On weekdays, the Prado Museum opens its doors for free after-work hours, drawing a diverse and excited queue of art lovers that wraps around the block. Palacio de Cibeles and Círculo de Bellas Artes cultural centers are other artsy hangouts to check out, with rooftop bars that provide impressive views of the city. While the Paseo del Prado and its roundabouts form a busy throughway in Madrid, a broad green pedestrian park in the middle is a calm and gorgeous place for a relaxing stroll. Just east of the museums, the Retiro Park is always a confluence of activity as families and friends of all ages take to the pretty paths and lawns to stretch their legs or to have a picnic.
