Nice hotel. Like the Mercure brand but disappointed with this hotel. My travel agent was not informed the hotel was under major construction 3rd - 6th floor. Due to noisey construction taking place between 10 am - 7 pm beyond the establishments control - we moved hotels. Staff were very understanding and assisted us so that we could enjoy our...

Perfect location over the road from a metro station. Rooms are very nice, large size with good facilities. Good A/C which is important. Easy to get to from the airport via the metro. Good service and smart lobby.

We have booked a double room off season and got a nice big room with plenty of space. The room has refrigerator and tea and coffee machine. Since the entire building is under renovation, the front of the building is covered and you cant see out. Some noise must be expected during week days. We enjoyed our stay here.

Booked this hotel as my partners birthday present for four nights. Requested balcony if possible. On arrival, hotel was completely covered in scaffolding. Friendly staff told us we had a brand new room. Room very clean, and bathroom good size. Shower has flat slab with no lip so water leaked everywhere and had to mop up. Poor design. Shame as...

First up. there are major renovations underway here. The work starts at 0830 and finishes around 1830. The newly renovated rooms are quite large, the usual Novotel comfortable bedding and tastefully decorated. Breakfast was adequate and worth what we paid.More elaborate breakfasts elsewhere, but priced accordingly. We had a couple of minor issues that were quickly attended to, service was...

The hotel is now in renovation stage, but our room on the 3rd floor was before the renovation, but in good condition. Little bit noisy in the mornings. The breakfast is O.K. Very comfy mattress with pillowtop. The strange thing - the forgot to provide any heating in tbe bathroom, so in the mornings it was very cold there. But...

I would give 5/5 for the location. Hotel is a bit old and is under renovation. The noise of renovation was little annoying. They must have avoided new year holiday season for renovations. I was disappointed with the WiFi speed too. Staff was courteous and friendly. Plug points placement was not convenient.

Staying in Arguelles

Neighbourhood Profile
Arguelles
Just south of the sprawling campus of the Complutense University of Madrid, Arguelles exudes a fast-paced, collegiate vibe. The main street, Calle Princesa, is filled with twenty-somethings rushing between classes and errands, meeting up with classmates, and grabbing cheap beers and cheap eats. This is a prime shopping spot where the major Spanish clothing and department store chains are less busy than their downtown counterparts, and there is an array of casual dining options to choose from. Check out nearby outdoor spaces such as the lushly planted Plaza de España to the south, which is often filled with craft stalls. To the west of Arguelles is the giant Parque Oueste, a calm and picturesque park with its own Egyptian temple.
