Fantastic hotel, great location, fantastic breakfast and bar food, loved the photos of the original plans from 1955 on the walls and the glass lift - highly recommend this hotel. Great choice of hotel for weekend travelers.

Hotel is located in Gran Via - very good location, walking distance to main attractions. Hotel room was decent, a bit on the small side but very clean. Rooftop bar was very nice. The only major downside, was the hospitality. Most of the receptionists were unhelpful and very unfriendly, especially Estelfania. Online, we were told we could check in at... More

Wonderful location, but marginal service and facility. The hotel appeared old and tired. We had problems using the room to room phones. The climate control did not function properly. I would use a different hotel next time in Madrid.

Hotel is located in the middle of everything, staff was very helpful and room was nice and clean. Bathroom was large very convenient, had a bathtub, a separate shower and a bidet. And most importantly, zero noise from the Gran Vía, even though we had a room overlooking this avenue, which is a very busy area in Madrid. Would definitely... More

Stayed for a night, staff were very friendly and cooperative, had a wonderful time. Would recommend the hotel to anyone coming to Madrid. The location is the best possible. Wifi not working in reception was the only exception I felt compared to other properties.

Very good location. Hotel is center of the city. I can choose again in my next trip. Price and quality is good. Only I do not like cleanliness in common area because of furnitures and carpets are old. Service and personals are very good. Thank you.

The hotel is very well located as it is right on the main drag of Grand Via. There is plenty of shopping and places to eat within a very close walk from the hotel. There is a hop on hop off bus stop across from the hotel which is very convenient. The hotel itself is odd. It is listed as... More

I was staying in this hotel for 3 nights and i can say that it is incredible! Very good service, clean rooms, tasty breakfasts and, of course, tasty vine:) It is good for such businesses trips. Not the perfect for family, because the atmosphere is a little dark and simple, but is general - good choice for everyone!)

Please see the website description of the hotel's Skylight Room (still online, despite me telling them it is incorrect)... "Located in the hotel's tower, behind the neon sign, is one of Madrid's most exclusive guestrooms. There is no other like it. Located on the hotel's 11th and 12th floor, one with shower and another with whirlpool, its incredible city view... More

We stayed for 5 nights, for the second time. The location is perfect and mostly convenient. The staff in reception and in the dining room was helpful, welcoming and efficient. The rooms were clean, properly equipped (including a baby crib) and well maintained. Breakfast was superb.

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
