Very positive experience. Perfect room, modernly decorated. Outstanding buffet breakfast with plenty of choice and high quality, both sweet and salad. Price not too high. A good choice visiting Madrid.

Stayed at this hotel for a week as I was attending a conference. The hotel is well situated in the neighbourhood of Salamanca not far from the city centre. My room was lovely, modern and most comfortable. The staff were all friendly and efficient and both the reception area and bar were spacious and very welcoming. The breakfast buffet was... More

What a different makes to stay at a regular room than in the Level. The Bar was great. The service was excellent. Food at the Bar was also great. The Level at Galgos was the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Extremely friendly. The girl at the front desk recommended the Level and it is all worth it.

Hear for a business trip. Reception large and pleasant. Bar is OK too. Room looks nice and modern but small. The big issue I had is the bathroom smelt of drains. I went out and unfortunately left the bathroom door open so the whole room smelt of it upon my return. I'm sure I have had this before here -... More

We stayed here as part of a Gate 1 trip. Hotel is nice, breakfast is very good and staff is very helpful. Check-in was easy even though we were with a large group. Good shopping on Calle Velázquez and Calle Serrano nearby.

We stayed at the galgos for 3 nights. I chose this hotel due to the location. I didn't want to be in the middle of chaotic Madrid and the Salamanca district is known to be one of the most sought after areas. The metro stop is a 5 minute walk so very good location. Breakfast: was a good variety so... More

My wife and I travelled on an organized bus tour of Spain and Portugal through Gate 1 in October. We stayed at the Melia Galgos for two nights. Just up the street from the American Embassy, this hotel is in a trendy and expensive part of town about 1.5 miles from the historic city center and a fairly short drive... More

Excellent hotel, well-located in an elegant neighborhood. Superior service, comfortable rooms, quiet and well-appointed. The air-conditioning is turned on or off according to the season, regardless of the outside temperature or of the temperature inside the room. The breakfast buffet, included in the price of the room, is outstanding.

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighbourhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighbourhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
