first time visitor to Madrid, hotel was good value, good breakfast and nice central location on Grand Via, I walked all over downtown from there. I would recommend it as a good tourist place in the centre of the city

The location is excellent. It is in the heart of Gran Via---the best part of the city. The hotel is just steps away from McDonalds, shops, etc. The only downside is, they don't have air conditioning unit. Fortunately, it was not too hot during our visit but I couldn't imagine staying there during summer with the kids around. I will...

Old renovated building but without double windows, hence rather noisy if you stay facing Gran Via. Moreover, defenitely avoid roosm in front of the lifts since you will not be able to sleep. in addition, the heating can also be rather noisy during the night, even when switched off. In other words, a very negative note on noise control. Breakfast...

Perfectly located a few footsteps away from the plaza d'Espagna metro station. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. I realised I left some personal belongings in one of the drawers as soon as I got to the airport. I called the hotel and they immediately sent the same taxi to meet me and deliver at the airport.

Found the hotel a little noisy as I was staying on a Saturday night and the local nightlife was a bit much after 38 hours travel. Centrally located in the city. Room I had was a small single room. OK for the price and what you would expect for a quick stop.

Staying in Malasana

Neighbourhood Profile
Malasana
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighbourhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
