This is a clean and comfortable B&B. It is centrally located, within walking distance to Atocha train station and major sites. Our friendly and gracious hosts, Paola and Rodolfo, were eager to please and to offer advice on nearby restaurants and attractions..We highly recommend the Aritistic as an excellent value B&B.

We spent 3 nights at Artistic B&B for the second time. It is a charming place, very comfortable, and in a super location. We stayed in a balcony room on the street side this time and our son stayed in an inside room. Our room has lots of light, a comfortable bed with nice linen, and a wonderful bathroom with...

My brother and I stayed with Paola and Rodolfo at Artistic B&B back in March, and we absolutely loved the place. The decoration is just as much fun as it looks from the pictures, the rooms were comfortable, the washrooms were new and very clean, and the location is positively ideal. It's walking distance from Atocha station if you don't...

Earlier this month we had the pleasure of spending 5 nights at the perfectly located Artistic B and B. Totally loved the sunny and spacious Batik room, facing Lope de Vega , with it's charming balcony, good quality mattress , modern bathroom fittings and quiet ceiling fan. Really excellent value for the price. As pleasant as we found the room,...

We enjoyed our stay at the Artistic, it was lovely to chat with both the hosts and other guests at the communal breakfast table. Very central, easy to get to. On the 3rd floor with no lift so you will go home a little fitter. The B&B is down a relatively quiet street in the museum quarter. Eat , drink...

We cannot imagine a more perfect B&B in Madrid. The location is excellent - a great area to walk around (with helpful suggestions from the owners for good choices out of the many possible places to eat) - and only a few minutes walk from the Prado. The owners are really friendly and welcoming. It fully deserves its high rating....

I was lucky enough to spend three nights at Artistic B&B while visiting Madrid with my wife and daughter. Our room was spacious and beautiful and the breakfast delicious, especially the freshly baked breads each morning. The owner, Paola, was wecloming and informative, and quite responsive to email inquiries before our arrival. Conveniently located within walking distance of the Prado...

My boyfriend and I stayed at Artistic for 4 nights right at the beginning of a long trip through Spain and Italy. It was BY FAR the best place we stayed overall. What a great place! We arrived at Artistic B&B early after traveling from the US and were greeted by Rodolfo. He gave us a handy map and some good pointers on the "Barrio de las Letras." The restaurant recommendations were perfect and we visited several of them. Another fun stop which he recommended (just around the corner, free and should...

Staying in Huertas

Neighbourhood Profile
Huertas
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighbourhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighbourhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
