I stayed for 4 nights on business and was entirely satisfied. The hotel is modern and everything works. Good wifi everywhere. Impeccably clean and well maintained. Comfortable bed. Sumptuous self-service breakfast. Self service cafe. Very good staff. Admittedly, it's not grand, not pretentious, not romantic. 'Functional' is the term that springs to mind. Not very central, but the adjacent metro... More

We stayed at the Tirol from 26-30 Oct 16. The rooms were comfortable and clean. We were a bit disappointed that there were no tea/coffee facilities and the English tv channels were very limited and non existent at the end. We couldn't find much information in either the room/hotel on how we could upgrade the tv channels or use a... More

We stayed there for a weekend. We were able to walk to most places, the hotel was very clean and staff very polite and helpful. The roof top is sold as being something amazing but it's simply just nice. The views aren't great. They have vending machines with drinks and snacks which was helpful although they kept getting jammed. Free... More

Excellent accommodation, only a couple of minutes from the Madrid metro with many restaurants and bars close by. Plus El Corte Ingles is your corner shop. Don't forget to go down the back streets to visit the local bars which are friendly and enjoyable not to mention great value. The roof terrace is a real find especially when you want... More

After an almost 24 hour trip from the Philippines to Madrid, including an 8-hour lay-over in Istanbul, the cozy and clean Boutique Hotel T3 Tirol was indeed a welcome respite. With free wifi so that communication back home was clear and immediate, a weary traveller could not have asked for more. Breakfast the next day was filling, and a short... More

Staying in Arguelles

Neighbourhood Profile
Arguelles
Just south of the sprawling campus of the Complutense University of Madrid, Arguelles exudes a fast-paced, collegiate vibe. The main street, Calle Princesa, is filled with twenty-somethings rushing between classes and errands, meeting up with classmates, and grabbing cheap beers and cheap eats. This is a prime shopping spot where the major Spanish clothing and department store chains are less busy than their downtown counterparts, and there is an array of casual dining options to choose from. Check out nearby outdoor spaces such as the lushly planted Plaza de España to the south, which is often filled with craft stalls. To the west of Arguelles is the giant Parque Oueste, a calm and picturesque park with its own Egyptian temple.
