We stayed in the middle of summer this year for three nights and we were really pleased. The rooms had everything we needed and were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic with lots of choice. Fantastic location. Would definitely recommend this hotel - we were very pleased with the price too.

We really picked the right hotel when we selected the Hotel Preciados in Madrid. It is perfectly located in a nice area less than a 5 minute walk to Plaza Puerta del Sol. Nice, clean and good sized room with everything you need. We received such friendly and helpful service from all the front desk staff. Beautiful breakfast was included... More

We stayed here for a few days in August, and though admittedly the staff did not speak perfect English they all did their utmost to be accommodating and helpful. Location was perfect, right on the line between the old and modern parts of the city, most attractions within walking distance. The hotel was well-maintained and though there was not a... More

Stayed here about 3 weeks ago when I went on vacation to Madrid not knowing what to expect. Usually I read about great location and yet the hotel is in good location of a certain area of the city, but this hotel sure is in excelent location. You can literraly walk to every corner of Madrid plus the center of... More

Stayed in this hotel for a weekend break in a superior room with terrace, room was very good with all you would need for a short break, terrace was a bit small but welcome to sit out on. Location was excellent and was well within walking distance to all major sites. Staff were excellent and very friendly. Only downside was... More

This hotel could not not be more centrally located - and being on a pedestrianised street never noisy. Hotel staff very helpful -rooms to a good standard. Didn't eat in the restaurant but breakfasts were excellent - we took package incl breakfast free wifi and minibar - definitely recommend

This hotel provides the ambiance and value of a true four star. Quiet, elegant room with just the right amenities. Impeccably clean, and (perhaps odd to say) a great bathroom! Friendly, well informed front desk. Attached restaurant among the best we tried in our four day Madrid stay... not especially inexpensive, but worth the price in quality and service. Location... Hotel, staff, food, location - all excellent. Would certainly use this hotel again. The only downside is that the hotel does not operate a shuttle bus to and from the airport - minor detail - you will need to organise transport yourself. We used 'Aero City's' airport shuttle service - at a cost of 39,60 euros for two adults. Waited... More

Stayed there for 4 nights in April 2013. First of all, the staff at this hotel were superb, answering and helping with all queries (e.g. with restaurant reservations) in a friendly and welcoming manner. It's a little thing but makes a huge difference when you're in an unfamiliar city for the first time. Location is excellent for restaurants, shops and... More

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
