I stay in Madrid often and had never considered this hotel before - but it will be my first choice next trip.
The location is on busy Gran Via - but just go one block to the back and you're in very local neighborhoods. Lobby is extensive and lots of space to relax or enjoy a drink with no noise from the street. Comp coffee every morning and breakfast available downstairs.
We traveled with family so we had two rooms.
One room was the basic category since they wanted to minimize hotel expense and focus on shopping. Room was small and bathroom tiny - but for the time that we booked, it was a great value for a couple who only needed a place to crash at night. As H10 Club members they received turn-down service and chocolates on the first night.
Our room was the Junior Suite Terrace which is one of the best hotel rooms I have ever stayed. More expensive, but considering the fantastic bed, 15 foot ceilings, sitting room, huge bathroom, balcony plus large terrace it was great. As H10 Club members we received a complementary bottle of cava and turndown service with chocholates on the first night. Complementary water throughout the stay and nespresso type pods in room plus tea kettle to get started in the morning.
Staff was consistently helpful and we all had a wonderful time.
The hotel seems to be two older buildings combined - so this results in a large variety of room types with various pricing and bed size plus location/views. Just pay attention to the room category you book and you should have a fantastic stay. Note: not all room types are available on all booking sites - so check the hotel site directly for more choices.

Thank you so much for your feedback and rating. We are glad you enjoyed each space for the hotel. The hotel is just one building, built in 1919 as a bank, restructured in 2001 as a hotel and totally renewed and refurbished in 2015 Hope see you again and continue being your first choice. Best Regards and saludos desde Madrid.

Very friendly & helpful reception staff, particularly when our flight was cancelled & we needed to extend our stay on Sunday afternoon. Ideal central location, although rooms at front can be noisy. Welcome chocolates in the room & good coffee machine. Deal I booked included breakfast which made the room very good value as the breakfast was of a very high standard with a huge selection of cereals, fruit, continental, cooked & pastries & drinks. Definitely recommend & would stay here again if returning to Madrid.

Stayed here for four nights and enjoyed our stay, we stayed in a Double Classic Room. My only small criticism is when walking to the bathroom there isn't an awful lot of room between the foot of the bed and the wall which has the TV right there. You can watch your step when both awake and the lights are on but if you need to get up in the night and the bed covers have slipped over the bottom of the bed you need to be careful you don't trip - as happened to me! Lovely large bathroom with toiletries provided, our shower was in the bath which was ok for us but if you have mobility issues the bath is quite high to step into. Nice lounge area and a welcome glass of Cava on arrival. We ate breakfast there one morning out of four but at 22 Euro's per person we didn't think it was worth this amount, bearing in mind there are so many places close by offering a good choice of breakfast options at a fraction of the cost. We really liked the location it was ideal for what we wanted to do during our stay.

Decided to take a taxi from the airport as there was 4 of us and taxi is flat rate of €30 versus airport bus at €5 each and quite a walk once in the city. Check in was good with a welcome glass of cava on arrival. We booked a classic double room which was actually very small. Very disappointed with the room as there was no view as the rooms appeared to be in a quadrangle and looked inwards with no view of the outside. Have never stayed in a room like this before and quite frankly I don’t want to again. It appeared that most of the rooms were similar. This meant that apart from the lack of view, there was no fresh air either. There is air conditioning although ours didn’t appear to be working and our room was quite stuffy. I did talk to reception about it and they said they’d send an engineer but it was still the same so we put up with it. It appears that the hotel is putting in a new air conditioning system so hopefully this will improve. The bathroom was fine and the beds comfortable. However, we did have quite a lot of noise from some building work especially during the afternoons. There was a constant drilling going on. I had to speak to the Manager and she was sympathetic and, after investigation, I was told that it was coming from some building works next door and not from inside the hotel. I still feel we should have been informed prior to our visit so we could have made a decision whether to stay at this hotel to change to somewhere else. We were given a free breakfast each on one morning and a bottle of cava and a piece of cake for my birthday. Whilst the breakfast was fine, in my opinion it’s not worth €22 each. The hotel is in a great position in the middle of Gran Via and all main sights were within easy walking distance and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Thank you for your feedback and rating. The Hotel has several room categories with different characteristics. The classic room is a medium-size room with all the standards of a four-star hotel and it is facing to a courtyard and it is really quiet. If you are interested in views, we also have double Gran Vía view or also Gran Deluxe rooms. The air conditioning-heating system, after our housekeeping checked, was working. About the drilling work it was in the building next to us, We cannot avoid our neighbours to make exceptional building works and we had no news about it. Once more we apologize for the inconvenience and instead of these issues, we are looking forward to your next visit. Kind Regards,

This hotel is in a great location and the hotel aesthetics are very nice.
We booked 2 rooms, one for the adults, one for the children, checking in a 21:30 at night the receptionist never told us which one was the bigger one and what time we had to check out. Ordered room service that night, lady said 20-25 minutes arrived an hour later and COLD, had to pay for the food before eating it, called reception to display my dismay, and that I would wait for call back for a solution or at least compensation, no call back no follow up, 85 euros wasted on cold food and frozen pizza.
Our room was full of noises, whether it was the neighbours shower, drains, or the lorries loading dirty washing or taking out the rubbish.
Light entered through the sides of the curtains and the mattresses really soft.
Service in general I was not too pleased with, I would say this is more a 3* hotel rather than 4,
Also take your own toothpaste.

Alright to be honest that hotel was probably the best city hotel I have ever been to.

The staff is super friendly and helpful. Even tho my Spanish is not the best they continued to speak in Spanish with me what I totally appreciated. 😄
The Check in was a bit more friendly, emotional and kind than the check out with the Lady which was much more like "ok bye" she didn't even ask for some feedback.

I was staying in a double room with the view to La Grand Via and still the room was super quiet. The design is super beautiful and it really felt cozy.

Unfortunately they don't have king or queen size beds yet, so there were two singles which constantly pushed apart even though the brakes were firm. But still the best were comfortable.

The bathroom... I could have spent hours there 😍 the design of the shower is amazing and totally fits the style of the hotel. Unfortunately every time I showered some water was on the ground of the other side of the room but totally manageable.
What's a really need of improvement is that there was no brush toilet brush which was kind of confusing...

But the best thing ever - for that you have to know that I am kind of a big girl 😅
This was the very first hotel where the towels where big enough that they actually covered all of my body 😍

I also found it great that my request for no cleaning was taken  seriously. Unfortunately, I have often experienced that hotels do not comply with this request and clean the room anyway.
I actually didn't mention the cleanliness until now because for me it is a must that a hotel room is clean and that's what it was.

The breakfast buffet easily can compete with any hotel I know so far. Great breakfast food and even tho a lot of tipical Spanish choices.

I did got a great deal on Secret Escapes and paid only 60 euros per night. They easily could ask for more.

So since I am working in the hotel industry as well I am not that easy to impress but I have to say I would stay in this hotel anytime again.

My dad and I vacationed in Madrid and Barcelona for Christmas of 2019 and loved the 2 h10 hotels we stayed at; the rooms and decor where lovely. The rooms with twin beds could have been a bit bigger as we kept bumping into our luggage. The staff was very receiving and helpful. The one most memorable member was Daniel at h10 villa de la reina in Madrid. He was so attentive and courteous, always making sure we were comfortable. We enjoyed our stay. However, I wish there was indeed a roof top bar like it indicates in all the google pictures! Apparently, there isn’t one! And of course, a gym with at least cardio pieces would have been great. Surprised there was not one.

Our second experience of this hotel group which didn’t disappoint. Their USP is that their hotels are in buildings which they remodel as an hotel as they did with their Barcelona hotel, the Madrid one was originally a bank.
Their reception and bar/ seating areas are both in the old banking hall which has a high ceiling and great ambience.
The staff are great and extremely helpful, their chef is very high calibre and although there is no separate restaurant eating within the sitting area is fine - we ate there every one of our five nights. The food was so good that it was a joy to work our way through the menu!
Two memorable members of staff were Beatrix on reception and Nieve on the bar/ food side.
Our room was large, well appointed, including a sofa, the bathroom of a very high standard. For Nespresso lovers there’s a machine. Whilst the hotel happily provided up with pods we use in the U.K. if you have a favourite bring a couple tubes with you!
The hotel is situated Gran Via which has many many bus routes and passing taxis which can be hailed. Taxi fares are cheap and if arriving by air as long as one used a taxi with a red stripe on the front doors
then there is a flat charge of 30 Euros however long it takes

I should add the booking was made by BA holidays, as was the Barcelona one.

Awesome hotel, awesome staff and the breakfast is an experience not to miss.

Speaking very little Spanish but wanting to see Madrid, this is the place for you. The staff were kind, courteous and went above and beyond to help us navigate the city.

Rooms were comfortable and agree with another reviewer that the beds did tend too pull apart, but otherwise a very comfortable room. I was surprised at how large the room was for three people and the bathroom was huge and I loved the tub! The water pressure was wonderful and after a full day of being a tourist, the shower felt great.

Located around great local places to eat, all within walking distance. Hotel had great recommendations and we did enjoy the drinks at the bar that were reasonably priced

Do you have connecting rooms? How can you accommodate a party of 3 with a sitting area? Thank you in advance.
Answer from Grace
Atlanta, Georgia85 contributions95 helpful votes
We stayed in the Suite Terrace Jacuzzi room. We were a party of 2, but our room could easily fit a party of three (we had one person in a king bed and another on the couch bed). The suite we had was not exactly two rooms but almost so. The first “room” was more of a seating area connected by a doorframe (no door, more like a hallway entrance) to the bigger master bedroom. This area had a couch, a desk, and a chair, though we converted the couch to a very comfortable couch bed (probably the most comfortable couch bed I’ve slept on!). This did take up almost the entire space in this room, so it wouldn’t really act as a seating area anymore. It feels very separate from the master bedroom, but is connected by an open doorway to it. You walked through this first room to get to the master bedroom, so this room will not have much privacy while people are passing through to leave. The master bedroom does also have two chairs for lounging. While here, we mostly lounged on the terrace with the couch and two chairs outside.
