The good: Great location Great staff - they tried hard to try and remedy the problem but without A/C there was no fixing Comfortable rooms The Bad: No A/C until April (confirm before you go) Our room faced the courtyard, quiet but hot! On a 75 degree day. Even on the colder day, the room was warm They said it...

Room comfortable quiet and clean. Staff very helpful. Take the room without breakfast - they charge 20 Eu for that - There is a great cafe across the road that does coffee and croissants for less than 5 Eu.

We came to see real madrid play and had some wonderfull days at the hotel. We would like to come again. Great service and really nice staff, and the restaurant was clean and quick to make orders. The room was nice and heading to the street, but no noise

I have just spent a long weekend staying in the hotel. I cannot find a single negative thing to say about it. The staff are friendly, polite and couldn´t do enough for us whether they were in the bar, restaurant or reception. The rooms were spacious, clean as were the bathrooms.

Great location and great rooms. I was upgraded, so may have had a particularly nice room, but it was spacious and spotless. The location is close to all the sites in the centre of the city. The staff were friendly and efficient. My only complaint was that the bar closed early so that I could not relax when I returned...

The staff was very gracious and checked us in early. But they still have heater instead of A/C going so our room is HOT. We have to open the window which makes it very loud and is still barely cool enough to rest. A disappointing start to our trip, especially with a sick kiddo in our midst. Needless to say,...

The hotel is located in the middle of all main downtown attractions. Minutes away from plaza de sol and even fewer minutes to plaza mayor. The hotel is modern yet still has many of its old original authentic bits and pieces. Very cool mix. The rooms overlooking the street are great but the rooms looking inside are noisy and dark....

Stayed here for three nights with a friend for an early birthday celebration, our stay was excellent from start to finish. We were greeted at check in by very helpful and friendly staff who immediately quickly and efficiently got us checked in. We had booked a street view room and found complimentary cava and fruit in our room as a...

Lovely hotel in an excellent location for a short visit to Madrid. Close to Puerto del sol with all the shops and nightlife to go with it. Only fault is bar closed early every night and nobody seemed to go into it.

Dear John M, Thank you so much for your reviews. About the opening time of the hotel bar, as it is located on a internal courtyard facing to different rooms, to avoid noises and not disturb the guests that are resting in their rooms, the bar closes at 11pm. It is open from midday during the week, and from 1pm...

Staying in Huertas

Neighbourhood Profile
Huertas
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighbourhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighbourhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
