We went there for a short trip. The hotel is located near the Plaza Majore and also near Vincente Calderon stadion. We were really nicely welcomed and the staff was friendly. The rooms were confortable and clean. There is a nice mini bar in the hotel. There is everything to enjoy a stay in Madrid.

This is the second time we stayed at the Ganivet hotel. It is situated not far (10/15 minute walk) from Plaza Mayor. Although the road out front is busy we had a very quiet room at the back last time. Asked for a quiet room this time, but weren't as lucky. Looking out onto a squared area where you could...

Dear customer, thank you very much for evaluating your stay in our hotel and thank you also for choosing us again. I regret that room 233 is not to your liking, the truth is that for most guests, it is a spacious and quiet room as it overlooks the back of the hotel. We'll take note of what happened. We...

I have to say that Ganivet is a proper hotel for a city break in Madrid. It has the location (very very close to the metro station), it has decent rooms, comfy beds, clean bath and good breakfast (not excellent, but enough to help you start the day properly). Don't expect a modern hotel, as this is not the case....

Staying in La Latina

Neighbourhood Profile
La Latina
La Latina is a charming neighbourhood with two unique personalities. At first glance, it’s distinctly old-world, with narrow streets weaving a maze among charming stone buildings in sunny, bright colors like yellow and pink. The other side of La Latina is characterized by a young population and a bohemian vibe, as evidenced by a dynamic and evolving selection of new bars, shops, coworking spaces, and other businesses popping up in the area. In the northern part of the neighbourhood, the Cava Alta and Cava Baja streets constitute the tapas center of Madrid, where each age-old restaurant serves up distinctive specialties like huevos rotos and patatas bravas. Locals have come here for generations to while away hours over drinks and tapas with friends. On Sundays and public holidays, the streets to the south of La Latina metro station transform into a giant open-air market full of locals sifting through tent after tent of art, apparel, and antiques. Any day of the week, the intriguing blend of the traditional and the hip make the streets of La Latina worth exploring.
