I stayed for one night. Woke up to a freezing room. The wall heater was. Not working. Called front destination and they confirmed it is broken. They had no other room. So I had to stay in this cold room. Next morning I talk to manager. His answer was all other rooms working so too bad yours didn't work. No...

Just back after 3 days at this basic hotel, however the bed was very comfortable with clean sheets, the bathroom was above the norm, we had fresh towels each day and the shower was excellent with a variable head, loads of hot water with a fantastic pressure. The hotel could not have been better situated right in the centre of...

Room was clean and beds were comfortable. We had a toilet and sink in our room and communal showers down the hall. It was very quiet at night since we faced an interior courtyard but that was perfect.

54 euros 2 people 2 nights can't complain. Wifi is a bit shoddy, no air con just fans, shared bathroom is tiny & no lift, we were on 4th floor and those stairs are steep! Gets pretty noisy other people's TV etc. However for the price it was okay, that said next time I'm in Madrid I'd pay more for...

Good points: - excellent location, many restaurants/bars etc nearby, short walk to Puerto deL Sol (centre area) and 5-10 min walk to gran via (main shopping strip). -cheap price, good for budget travellers -friendly receptionist -airconditioner in room worked well, as did shower and tv -clean enough for outdated apartment Bad points: - only stairs so if you have luggage...

It is located in the very centre of the city and it's really cheap. Considering that you can't expect too much with the quality. It's good enough to be a place to stay at night. Also, the receptionist in daytime is very friendly and helpful. He recommended us an excellent local restaurant which we loved a lot! So, if you...

Took the late train from Rota and arrived in Madrid at midnight. I found this place from this site and was happy to book it for the night. The staff made it easy to check in and my room was just cleaned. I got the room that had its own shower room which was unexpected. Restaurants are located all around...

My girlfriend and I only stayed here two nights, and spent very little time at the hostel and that was our plan. Nice enough place to sleep but little else, but at 30 Euro a night, I didn't expect anything more. Our room had a private half bath, and a shared shower for each floor. The shower on our floor...

Good value for location right in the center, close to everything. Safe area. Stairs might be difficult for some people but we didn't find this a problem. Reception was terrible, we waited for ages to be served to check in and when we went to checkout the other reception person said we hadn't paid so there was another longer wait....

They are available by day or night to give you informations or if you need something to drink or to eat. They showed us the good spots to visit, they booked for us to a flamenco show in a nice...

Staying in Huertas

Neighbourhood Profile
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighbourhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighbourhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
