THis hotel has a "5 star Grand Luxe" rating so you would expect to pay top $$. However we pre booked it for 5 nights on their internet site and the average for each night was around $250 per room. Imagine what you would pay in London or Paris or Sydney etc. At least double that amount. It is a...

Urban hotel is located next to almost everything. It is the perfect place to explore the city center with its culture and night life. The whole hotel is really stylish and hip with a nice rooftop bar. Staff is friendly and likable. The junior suites are nice but a bit too small and you will not use the upstairs part...

I'm sure there was a time when the Hotel Urban was the chic new hotel in the city. The Lobby is still impressive ...the glass bar is enjoyable and the location is....very central and convenient. But what a dissapointment. Upon closer inspection, the chipped wood starts to show, as do the scratched counter tops, dirty paint and even weather stripping...hanging...

I know this is supposed to be chic and trendy and 'cutting edge' and there is much to recommend it - even if the room we had was very dark and looked like the setting for a bad 70s porno. As the designated spouse equivalent of 25+ years said - 'If I was brought back here after a night out...

Good location near the congress, parks etc. Rooms are small but functional and stylish. Had a good night's sleep. Would recommend to friends looking for a place to stay on a weekend getaway. The hotel is quite expensive but still nice and not as expensive as the Westin for example.

A spacious boutique hotel that gives a genuine feel of luxury while staying. Elegant and well equipped rooms, courteous staff and a modern feel all around. A comfortable stay at the hotel and brilliantly located in Madrid. Easy to move around by foot from the hotel and to visit the city.

Very friendly hotel, I have now stayed in both Urban Madrid and their sister hotel Banke in Paris and received the very same welcome. The rooms are small and in Madrid I booked a junior suite, but the layout of my son's room Superior was much better. My one and only gripe is wifi. Where as it is free and...

We stayed at Hotel Urban last weekend. Upon arrival we were asked if we would like an upgrade from duplex to suite. We agreed and paid 90 € more per night. In retrospect, I don't really know if it was worth it. We should have asked to see both rooms before making the decision. The whole vibe of the hotel...

A very cool spot, great design, interesting crowd and fantastic roof top bar and terrace. Also well located in the very heart of Madrid. The standard rooms are a little on the small side, but still very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and the service during my weekend stay was top class. I would definitely return to this hotel.

Staying in Huertas

Neighbourhood Profile
Huertas
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighbourhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighbourhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
