We wanted an overnight in Madrid which was centrally located and close to the metro. This location did the trick. The "Family Room" had two beds plus bunkbeds, so everyone had a place and there was plenty of space. Staff was friendly to the kids and helpful.

Hotel in right in the middle of the town, close to the palace. Hotel staff were polite and helpful. The outside noise is loud however this hotel is in the centre so to be expected. Hotel had slight signs of wear but didn't ruin our trip. Would recommend this hotel

The Petit Palace group of hotels is pretty good ( I loved the Petit Palace Arana in Bilbao) but this one is a disappointment. It's a bit shabby now and, although the location by the Puerta Del Sol seems great, the hotel is on one of the feeder streets and hordes of people go past your window until late. Very...

Dear Karin: Thank you for choosing our Group Petit Palace Hotels and for taking your time to share your feedback. We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, and it's apparent in this case that we fell short. We really regret that you had a lot of noise in the room, but if we had been informad, we would...

Nice hotel, clean and stylish; cosy room with all you need, including hydro massage shower. Very comfortable mattress. In wonderful position (pedestrian street, very near to Puerta del Sol). Staff is very kind and helpful (they were available to print my files after my request). Complete breakfast with all you can desire; unfortunately it starts a little bit too late,...

I booked this hotel for a five night stay based entirely on TA reviews and was not disappointed! Choosing a room with a balcony facing out on to El Arenal, I was immediately impressed by the massive king size bed, modern and very clean/fresh furniture and well appointed bathroom. The room was spotlessly clean, towels and linen (including bathrobes) were...

Very kind and pleasant handling of the check-in, even though it was after midnight, due to delayed flight. All the staff at the hotel are very polite and do their best to help you. Even those who do speak English very well. Breakfast buffet very good, especially the verity of different fresh made juices.

The hotel was great, it was centrally located,my family and I could walk everywhere we wanted to go. Like Plaza Mayor, El Palacio Real, El Museo del Prado, among others.. The staff was friendly and helpful when we needed any help. The room was big and comfortable, I will definitely stay here again whenever I return to Madrid!

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
