The room was well appointed with a nice interior view from the window. The room size was enormous for a European hotel. The bathroom had a full enclosed shower and a full tub. The building is full of old world charm This was the best...More
Stayed there for 4 nights with my family of three. The location of the hotel can't be beat. It is a street across from the Retiro park, allowing us to enjoy a pleasant walk each morning/evening. My wife works in hospitality industry and she was...More
Great location across from the park and close to the Prado Museum. Decent breakfast. The front desk staff is very helpful and accommodating. We arrived early and were able to get a room. Would stay again.
We booked this hotel because it was central to all the sites in Madrid and we had some Marriott point we could use to offset some of the cost.
The location was perfect and the room was larger than I thought it would be. We...More
HORRIBLE, OLD, STINGY HOTEL!!
We were offered free continental breakfast, since we are Marriott Gold Members. However, what they mean by continental breakfast is simply a small glass of orange juice, a few bite sized pastries, and a small, small kiddie sized box of cereal....More

Paseo del Prado
Also Known As
Ac Palacio Del Retiro, Autograph Collection Hotel Madrid ,
The area around the elegant Paseo del Prado boulevard is much-visited by both locals and tourists. The world-famous Prado, the Reina Sofia, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza museums form a triangle of art and culture that spans this grand and beautiful avenue. On weekdays, the Prado Museum opens its doors for free after-work hours, drawing a diverse and excited queue of art lovers that wraps around the block. Palacio de
Cibeles and Círculo de Bellas Artes cultural centers are other artsy hangouts to check out, with rooftop bars that provide impressive views of the city. While the Paseo del Prado and its roundabouts form a busy throughway in Madrid, a broad green pedestrian park in the middle is a calm and gorgeous place for a relaxing stroll. Just east of the museums, the Retiro Park is always a confluence of activity as families and friends of all ages take to the pretty paths and lawns to stretch their legs or to have a picnic.

No, it's horrible. Do not bother. There have to be other properties that'll work better for you. We are so upset! We arrived yesterday- wifi is horrid, 2 mini bottles of comp water ( but none the rest of our 3 nite stay!) , no club level, horrid TV connection-(freezing in and out on BBC etc, ) tiny small room next to elevator and on the street on 1st floor( forget our higher room level request) , no b'fast except a continental ( but NOT a full b'fast like most other places). You have to go and request a special key for the in room safe , why didn't check in tell you this? Tiny elevator, and it was next to our room! (Weren't we happy!!!!!! Ugh. ) Noise all the time. No clock in the rooms, we are platinum and gold, we have stayed at most of the European Marriotts, as well as so many in Asia. We cannot even tell you how miserable our stay was. 2 nd time in Madrid- won't EVER stay here again. The BEST thing about this property is JUAN CARLOS! He is a piece of joy, works like magic, happiest of smiles and wants to make things the best for his clients. He should be the front desk checking person- fire those girls that are supposed to do their job. Horrid attitude.!!! We loved him!
