This is a great hotel in a lovely quiet location but so close to everything, rooms spotless with a small kitchen in the room. We had no kettle or cups which seemed a bit odd however, one call to reception and this was sorted. Madrid is beautiful city with load of lovely buildings and so easy to walk around, it...

We were in Mdrid for a long week-end and picked this hotel for its location, price and favourable reviews, we were not dissapointed. The hotel is in a very quiet and safe area near Plaza Colon, close to many goverment buildings. There were police in evidence 24/7 so it felt very safewalking around at whagever time. The hotel is located on the outside of the center in a quiet neighborhood in a luxurious part of town. The walk to the Plaza Mayor is only 15 minutes and to the Real Madrid stadion it is only 40 minutes walking. The metro station is very nearby so you always take the subway. The room is very nice and...

We stayed in two rooms that we were able to obtain contiguous. The location is excellent, a block from Paseo de la Castellana and 5 euros away in taxi from many great places. Rooms are modern and include a kitchenette with modern appliances. Shower is amazing with good pressure, beds with soft linens and pillows plenty. The rooms are sound...

We booked a room here following a late afternoon arrival by train into Madrid ahead of an early morning flight out of Madrid airport. So we didn't get to experience a lot about the hotel. But our checkin was smooth and helpful, and our room was very comfortable. The hotel was a short and very pleasant stroll (past some very...

My husband and I stayed two nights in this hotel. We were very pleased with it in many ways. The room was large and comfortable. The air conditioning worked perfectly. We had asked for a big bed and a quiet room and we got both. The staff were helpful at all times. The room was lovely and the bathroom had...

This hotel is the perfect location for discovering Madrid. It's situated in a small street next to Plaza Colon, which makes it a quiet retreat in a hectic city. One can literally walk easily to all main attractions and this also counts for the evenings. Chueca is just a 10 minutes walk away which offers all cool places for dinner...

The staff was very nice. The hotel is pretty. We got a big room. The elevators weren't great. Laundry was super expensive -- we found a place outside to do it. The in-room kitchen was nice but the sink was odd, with no soap. There was some street noise. We loved the shutters on the window that blocked out light...

Staying in Chamberi

Neighbourhood Profile
Chamberi
Multi-story residential buildings decorated with ornate balconies line the traditional, quiet, and pretty streets of Chamberí. Humble storefronts and neighbourhood taverns are scattered across the lower levels down every block, and here and there, there's a cluster of tables on the sidewalk. It isn't ever crowded, but people are always out, poking into the tiny bakeries, hardware stores, and tobacco shops, or ducking into a bright, unadorned cerveceria to have a coffee or beer by the bar, flip through the paper, and check the sports score. The round Plaza Olavide, where the fairly regular network of streets breaks form, is among the most green and lively spots. Restaurants line its circumference and sought-after outdoor tables fill the center of the plaza, where people relax to the sounds of kids playing and street musicians' tunes.
