Superb location. Steps from gran via and opera metro station. Walking distance to most of the tourist attractions. The hotel es beautiful. Mix of old and modern. Rooms are comfortable and staff are helpful. I would stay again without a doubt. Muy buena opción en el centro de Madrid.

Good hotel, but everything small. Difficult to park. Nice building. Clean and quiet room. Free wifi. Friendly staff. Amenities. Close to historic landmarks in Madrid. Good area for walking, restaurants, leisure, etc. I prefer bigger spaces, but this hotel is cool

We just came back from four nights at Las Meninas. The location is great: on a quiet street mid-way between the Opera and Callao subway stations. It's a ten minute walk to the Plaza del Sol, five minutes to the Plaza Mayor and the Palacio Real. The staff were all very nice and very helpful. Although we really didn't need...

An excellent hotel in a central location. In a quiet side street which leads directly off Plazza Opera, Hotel Meninas is ideally placed to enable you to explore this historic district of Madrid. We were travelling with only hand luggage and our mini double room was more than adequate for our needs. If you had one or more suitcases, it...

We stayed at Hotel Meninas while visiting Madrid for a long weekend in early March 2017. We were very impressed with this hotel which is located within a short walk of the centre of the city. It is also adjacent to the Metro station, bus stops and taxi rank. The hotel is fairly small but clean, comfortable and staff very friendly...

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay - greeted by Fernando (I think) who was really helpful and friendly. Very quiet room at the back of the hotel. Breakfast was great. Great location. Be warned if using metro from the airport that line 8 is closed until April so you need to get Renfe train to Nuevo ministre and then metro.

Nice hotel in a really central location. Maybe a little noisy in the night but that is more a feature of the city than the hotel. Had a family suite room which was quite large. Restaurant is quite small and simple but service is good and it is open late into the evening. So nothing super special but recommended for...

BEST is location and big and clean rooms. Staff is not the best of the zone but cannot complain. Breakfast is huge. I missed a parking area, though I understand that it us hard to get because of the location

This room was beautiful with awesome windows that opened which was nice. We had the junior suite and it was HUGE! It was a little bit loud at times but that's because it's so close to everything. So many bars and restaurants within walking distance.

My daughter and I stayed here for two nights in January. We arrived and the staff was very friendly and helpful since this was our first time in Madrid. There is a full breakfast including eggs, meats, breads and juices. And there is a free walking tour provided by the hotel every day at 10:30am. That was fabulous as we...

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
