The hotel is in a fairly quiet street very close to OPERA metro station (3 mins walk) and 5-10 mins walk from the Royal Palace. Our room was on the 4th floor which I think was a good thing as it was away from immediate street noise. Bedroom was a touch small but nothing worth worrying about and had an excellent shower/wc. Tea making facilities in the room and 2 small bottles of water were left each day. There is a small mini market across the street where we bought additional water very cheaply €0.26 for 1.5 litres.
Buffet breakfast was excellent - fruit, yoghurts, bread, rolls, toast, fruit juices, fried mushrooms, tomatoes etc, cereals - couldn’t be faulted.
All in all we were very pleased with the hotel in every respect and happily recommend it for a stay in the centre of Madrid.

I stayed here in November 2021 for 5 nights and had a very good experience. The staff at reception were all super friendly and helpful. One of them helped my partner to book a dinner reservation for my birthday as we did not know much Spanish and we really appreciated that.

When we first arrived we got our room right away, the room was very quiet, clean and cosy and we had a massive bathroom. When we requested anything we got it within 5 minutes. The cleaning staff were also super friendly and helpful. Also the staff at breakfast particularly a lady I did not get her name but she went out if her way to get a lemon for me when I asked for it with my tea (really appreciated that) I am sorry we did not get to tell her goodbye but she helped me learn some extra Spanish:).

The hotel has a very good location, a 2 minute walk away from Opera Station and a taxi stand nearby. There is also a small grocery opposite the hotel which was very convenient. There are shops 5-10 minutes away and loads of eating places so you will be fine.

Staff and guests wore mask all the time so felt relatively safe. The lounge area is very nice and cosy. The breakfast is very filling you get a lot each day but it is the same dishes everyday mostly. You get fruits, pastries, hams, bread, churros and tea/juice/coffee very generous portions.

The only thing that we did not particularly like is the scheduled breakfast. You have to notify the front desk the day before giving them the time you want to have breakfast. But I understand why with the virus and spacing so it is ok but it was just tiring for us to be on a schedule while on holiday.

Other than that I would highly recommend this hotel for price, service and quality.

What a lovely boutique hotel… we had everything we needed and the front desk was fantastic, so friendly and helpful. Greatly appreciated housekeeping service each day and the breakfast was always so nice. Really liked the doors/windows to the balconies — they open two ways to let in fresh air. Mostly quiet street compared to busier parts of Madrid. Ideal location very walkable to everywhere we wanted to go (Royal Palace, Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol, Gran Via) and there is even a taxi stand less than a half a block away for further distances, like the Prado and Atocha train station. and Bonus — nice grocery store across the street. And I can’t help but say it — the branding is tops! We will be back!

My husband and I spent three weeks in May, 2022 in Spain: Barcelona, Madrid, Malaga and San Sebastian and stayed mostly in 4 and 5-star hotels, five hotels in total. Hotel Meninas was by far the most disappointing in our hotel experiences in Spain.
To add to this, I have to admit that I have never slept on blood stained pillows in any hotel in the world in my whole life! We are talking huge blood stains, very visible and disgusting. But first thing first.
When we arrived to the hotel at noon, we felt very tired after a train ride from Barcelona. We were given a small, stuffy, badly decorated room with a tiny, jail-type window facing an ugly wall within a meter of the window. The room was under the stairs at the end of the corridor and in old years could have probably served as a room for the service personnel.
When we returned to the front desk and refused to stay in this room, we were told we would need to come back in three hours.
Back to the hotel after three hours in the city, we were offered a room on the third floor. This room was decent in size and seemed adequate albeit not as impeccable in terms of the state of repair (old cracked paint on the windows and walls in some places, scuffs and black scruffs on many walls etc). All night we had problems sleeping because of the loud noise of the garbage removal truck from a grocery store located just across the road. But the biggest unpleasant surprise was waiting for me in the morning when I woke up and saw that the interior pillow, inserted in a pillow case was all over stained with huge stains. The realisation that I slept on it all night shocked me and upset me to the point that I started my day on a very bad note. Of course, I brought this pillow to the cleaning lady, who was working in a room nearby and told her to show it to her manager. After breakfast, which was average and had very few choices for me personally, I reported the pillow disaster to the front desk. The front desk lady could only offer her <<I am sorry>> in response.
So, Hotel Meninas anyone? Think fifteen times before you say yes to it!

This is a very well placed hotel to enjoy a weekend sightseeing in Madrid on foot. Situated near to many of the recommended places to see it allows great flexibility when planning your weekend. For example Opera Square is less than 2 minutes walk, the Palace 10 mins and the art galleries 20/25 mins.
This is a boutique hotel who translates to limited offering with support focused on the reception who were very helpful. It has no bar facilities but I understand you can use a sister hotel nearby (which isn’t really practical). Breakfast is buffet but plentiful. Rooms are functional and perfectly satisfactory for a mini break.
Overall for the location alone recommended

A well appointed hotel, beautifully furnished in the centre of old Madrid. The reception staff were excellent. We were originally offered an inside room on the 5th floor, but small window overlooking an interior courtyard was not what we wanted and they quickly gave us a room on the 2nd floor overlooking the street. A wonderful room, light and airy and very comfortable. It had its disadvantages though. Madrid dustmen collect at between 0130 qnd 0330 and make enough noise to awaken the dead. Also noise from the street is amplified and most Spanish do seem to speak rather loudly at 2am! So it is swings and roundabouts. There was a failing in housekeeping with our room not being made up on the second day, it was done rather poorly by an unhappy member of staff at about 1630. The next day the room was cleaned, but used cups not cleaned, coffee and tea not replaced and floor not swept. The dining room was out of order and we took breakfast at the sister hotel Opera just around the corner. The breakfast was excellent, but staff were having to cope with double the numbers which they did well and with a smile.
Wonderfully located and well run, the small mistakes did not detract from our stay.

For us it was a perfect location. On a quiet side street but still a four minute walk to the Royal Palace, 15 minute walk to Debod, 10 walk to Sol and 2 minute walk to Opera. Kindly staff and very clean. We booked through the hotel website and received free breakfast which was fantastic—fruits, meats, cheeses, pastries and more.

Excellent hotel, right in the heart of Madrid. Moments from Opera house/station. Palace only 2mins further . San Miguel market less than 10 mins walk and it felt most other tourist hotspots were not far either
Room clean, well appointed and pretty spacious for city centre. More than one English tv channel would have been nice, but as we spent little time in room it didn’t matter, having a sofa in the room was definitely a plus rather than having to sit on the bed, far nicer.
Breakfast good, but hot stuff could have been hotter, though wide choice for a smallish hotel. Would definitely come here again if we return to Madrid.

We stayed for 2 nights in this nice little hotel, well situated close to the opera, the palace and shopping area.
People at the reception are very friendly and eager to help. Rooms are clean and the beds comfortable. Breakfast is very complete from cereals, fruits, bread, jams, hams, cheese, yoghurts and warm Spanish specialities. There is something for every taste. Also excellent fresh orange juice.
Room prices are correct. We booked directly on their website

The room is disgusting, walls are dirty, door of the office is broken, electric cables are showing.
This room needs a serious renovation.
In the description the hotel is presented with a sauna and a gym, except these facilities are in an other hotel (accessible at down the street).

You just have one bed in a double size or two beds? We had a single bed for double occupancy. I want to say it was probably smaller than a queen size bed (by American standards) but we were still able to fit two adults.
