Stay here for the location. Food was substandard and rooms were small.

Good morning. Thank you very much for your recent good opinion of the hotel. In relation to the size of the room has 24 square meters and it is always desirable is greater, but it is of 1.3 square meters more than the average four-star rooms in Madrid. As for the food, I referred to the breakfast, which has various...

Me and my wife stayed at the Hotel Catalonia Goya for two nights in June. It is situated at calle goya, one of the most popular shopping area in Madrid. Apart from clothing stores, at a short distance walking you can find the Corte Inglés and the pharmacy for other necessities. Some delicious sandwich bar (where you can taste the...

Catalonia Goya is a smart hotel in excellent condition in a well-heeled area of Madrid. Everything was spotlessly clean and in good working order. The reception staff were helpful, although the bar staff were extremely slow and often absent. The safety deposit boxes in the rooms are fine, but need to be updated to a modern easy to use system....

I was a bit worried it would be too far from the centre of the action, but that was not the case at all. The hotel is well located, right by a Metro station - very accessible. There's lot's going on in the neighbourhood, but it's not as hectic as some of the more touristy areas. The front desk staff...

This hotel, right next to the Velazquez metro, is very good quality for the price. It is in the centre of the best shopping district, and very easy to get to from both Atocha AVE station and the airport. The buildings are two pretty, old city houses, and the rooms and bathrooms are well decorated, though mine had a couple...

This hotel is located outside the citycenter, in a much nicer neighbourhood, with all the perks of of a citycenter hotel but much more relaxed and less "touristy". A nice 15-20 min walk to Puerto del sol.

Unfortunately this is an old, sloppy run down hotel in a good location. It really is in desperate need of a renovation. The staff are friendly but useless and don't know the area ...restaurant recommendations were either "I don't know" or across town. I was given a first floor room on the main street and told that it would be...

This hotel was not included in our original plan. We had to come to Madrid 1 day earlier to the embassy because my sister's passport was stolen 2 days before leaving Spain. So we arrived to the hotel before the check-in time and needed to leave our luggages as to catch up with the embassy working hours. We specifically asked...

Good morning, Mr. Suphan. First of all, I want you to know that I fully understand that your situation on arrival at the hotel was not the best, after suffering several robberies in Barcelona. Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighbourhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighbourhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
