The location of the hotel was excellent and extremely close to a Metro station. We never actually used the Metro as we walked everywhere as we were close the centre with great shopping and great nightlife. The hotel had a nice little bar that was very retro, the only thing was the beer was served into what I can only...

The staff are consistently helpful, the rooms are Ibis and the location takes some beating. In addition, the wall decorations,in reception, are to be commended. Within very short walking distance are many restaurants, bars and shops. I suggest a stroll up the street, towards the metro, then turn right and take the mostly-pedestrianised walk to the main (Sol) square.

The title of the hotel is totally misleading, it isn't in the centre at all it's quite a way from all the attractions, we walked to them and it was quite a walk. Thirty minutes plus in the boiling hot weather and uphill on the way back. There is a metro two minutes walk away, but we found that it...

We stayed at the Ibis and was pleasantly suprised that the metro was less than a 2 minute walk away. Frome here you can get almost anywhere in Madrid. There are 10 metro lines and numerous bus routes. A 5 day pass for both can be bought in the station for euro 26. There are plenty of eating places close...

Excellent location beside Bilbao Metro stn and within the hipster district of Malanas. Would recommend this hotel and excellent customer service of the staff. Lots of great restaurants around and within walking distance of the cool shopping area and for gay travellers Chueca district.

Stayed here for 4 nights using the hotel as a base to see the city and visit friends. The hotel is situated on a busy little side street close to Bilbao metro. Room was very clean and tidy and a good size. Only issue was some noise from the street late at night but that can't be helped from the...

Whenever my partner and I visit Madrid we stay in this hotel. The location is very good and trendy, many places to go out at night, it is close to metro stations and to numerous shopping streets. Moreover, the breakfast is really good, the service was wonderful and the price - totally affordable!

The hotel has a great location, in a street full of bars and restaurants, near to metro station. Great deal! The only problem is that we were not able to turn on air conditioning to get a cooler room, even on winter.

The Ibis in Malasana, Madrid, is in a good central location. The room was very comfortable and staff friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast, which was beautifully laid out. Altogether excellent. I recommend this hotel. The only proviso is that it can be noisy at night with the sounds of traffic and people's voices in the street, but...

Staying in Malasana

Neighbourhood Profile
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighbourhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
