The apartments are renovated, very clean, with TV, safe box, frige and microwave. Each apartment has its own heater, boiler and air conditioning. But the most is the location, in the hart of Chueca, few meters from Gran Via, for a very reasonable price.

Great location - right on a shopping mall with plenty of shops in the nearby location. Felt safe walking the streets at night in that area. Room clean. Fridge and microwave which was great. Elevator to the hostal but you do still need to walk up one small flight of stairs (approx 10)

Location, accommodation and the price was great. It's right in the city centre but also quiet on a night. It says hostel but that's misleading. We had a family room and it was spotless. I would highly recommend Los Alpes for a trip to the heart of Madrid!. The staff were friendly, they did seem to want cash but had...

A lot of advantages: room equipment - fridge, kettle, microwave, air conditioning, hair dryer, towels; daily cleaning up, comfortable beds, excellent location (4 metro stations nearby, plenty of bars and restaurants), friendly service. Disadvantages: we had a window overlooking the inner walls of the building (see the picture), so the room was dark.

The hostal is always very clean and well maintained. The beds are clean and comfortable. This time the window of my room was facing the internal lift shaft. It was small but had all the ameneties as published. Two minutes from the Gran Via.

We had a room with 3 beds and were there for two nights with 2 adults and two kids. The rooms were very clean and air condition worked fine. The location in Calle de Fuencarral is perfect, if you want to be right in the city center with all the cafes, bars and shops. Great!!!

A nice, simple and quiet HOTEL (not hostel) in the VERY heart of Madrid. Close to at least 3 metro stations. Close to many tourist IP which are within a reasonable walking distance. Close to plenty of restaurants, shops, supermarkets... Small yet confortable rooms (mine was with shared toilet but with a shower box and a sink inside the room)....

Basic hotel, however clean and well equipped (appreciated the small fridge, kettle and the safe)! The location is just perfect - close to shops, restaurants and most of the main attractions in walking distance.

Staying in Malasana

Neighbourhood Profile
Malasana
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighbourhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
