Great Hotel and great location in the center of Chueca. We discover to late "la Terrazza" a lovely bar in the top of the hotel. If I will back in Madrid, no doubt , I will chose again Room Mate Oscar.

At the reception, it's a bit too business-like. Nobody mentioned there was a nice terrace (or a swimming pool?) Here's your access card, off you go. But this is nothing compared to the fact that this hotel has a very good location (especially if you're in Chueca because it's the gay area of Madrid), it is not noisy at all,...

This is a big boutique hotel in a good location for most sights in Madrid, located off a quiet plaza close to the main artery, Grand Via. Rooms are modern and very funky with complicated lighting controls, bathroom lighting was cool design but not bright enough to be functional. An entire wall in my room was partially naked guy, not...

Good things: the location is very good; you're at walking distance from almost anything you must see in Madrid. The personel is young and always smiling. The roof terrace is spectacular and the "cool" crowd from Madrid comes for the sunset aperitivo, listening to nice chillout music. breakfast is on until 12pm! Bad things: The standard rooms are quite small...

I stayed at Room Mate Hotel Oscar for 5 nights to explore the sites and sights of Madrid with my parents. we got good sized rooms, but peeked into some others when being cleaned and realised some were very tight. They have used clever interior design. For some rooms the basin part of the bathroom is open to the room...

Good Hotel, modern design but less intim than Mario or Migueletes The customer is anonym at the reception desk, to busy to speak with their talky walky No specail price for the parking close (28€ a day). Ask for one executive room with view outside. From the others room you'll sell pipes on a dark patio. Good place on the...

We stayed at Roommate Oscar last July for a long weekend. Great hotel - stunning interior design, very modern, friendly staff. We stayed in a 'green' superior room which was immaculately clean and comfortable. It was July in Madrid so VERY hot, and the room's air con was perfect - you can adjust it yourself so it didn't get too...

The hotel is in a good location just off the Grand Via and on the outskirts of the hip Malasana and Chueca neighbourhoods. This is a very busy area at night particularly in the weekend. The front facing rooms have double glazing to reduce noise though. The hotel is a modern design and every room is different - we know...

We really enjoyed our stay, especially considering this was a break from our budget accommodations over our two week trip through Spain. The design is modern and chic. We stayed on the top floor and had a fantastic balcony with great views of the city. Tasty breakfast. Convenient location to city sites and fun neighborhood, Chueca. Friendly, helpful staff. We...

I stayed for just 2 nights visiting family and friends and as usual, as I have stayed here 3 times before, it was a lovely hotel with friendly staff, clean rooms, secure and efficient and in a great location. I will be back.

Staying in Chueca

Neighbourhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighbourhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
