If you’re visiting Matera, you’ve got to experience a stay in the cave and take in the great view of the Sassi. And that is exactly what we did at this amazing B&B. We stayed at the upstair room with the window overlooking the church and the Sassi. I can't say enough about the breakfast. The pistachio butter on croissant...

We couldn't have stayed at a better location! The views from the window are stunning! The owners mimmo and wife are such warm and genuinely kind people, they even drove us to the parking lot outside old town to show us where to leave car overnight. It's easily the BEST breakfast we had in out stay Italy. The views from...

I found this place on Trip Advisor and I'm very pleased we stayed there. It was in a great location in the Sassi. Our room was upstairs on the front with a little terrace. This room and the one below were the bigger rooms and worth asking for. The hostess was lovely but there is very little English spoken. Breakfast...

This place is unique carved into a rock. Amazing B/B overlooking the Piazza San Pietro, very central , slept in a cave room, the view is spectacular ,breakfast was served on the terrace by the welcoming and friendly owner. As the B/Bis in the middle of the old Matera easy to walk around and do excursions. We parked our car...

Location is excellent, view is wonderful and breakfast was reasonable. Family run business that is in the process of building 2 more suites. They try hard. Great if you speak Italian. Difficult to find. Young lad was left in charge and didn't know anything. Access to sassi is restricted so very difficult to gain access by car. Parking is on...

We agree with all the excellent reviews. We stayed in the comfortable Campanile room with an excellent view across the Piazza San Pietro to the valley with the caves beyond. The location is about a 10-minute walk into the old town proper and, as a result, is probably a quieter place to stay than in the main part of the...

This B&B is the most amazing I've stayed in, anywhere. Its location, overlooking Piazza San Pietro Caveoso and the most stunning part of the Matera sassi is just the best possible. The "panorama" room, reaching into the rock cave, tastefully and stylishly renovated and opening directly on the terrasse above the piazza, is fabulous. Breakfast is delicious and generous -...

Like all of the other reviewers we had a fantastic 2 nights here. Breakfast on the terrace under the umbrellas in the morning sun over looking the old town was a highlight. Faultless from our perspective. Just some notes on parking. It's an 8-10 min walk from the B&B, in a parking station outside the historic area. You can drive...

We felt most privileged to spend a night in the cave dwelling of La Corte di Pastore. Perhaps the best view in Matera of the sassi and old city was from the terrace below our dwelling as well as a fantastic view from our bedroom window. Breakfast was quite good and our hosts, while not being very conversational in English,...

We took the "Panorama Room" which is more of a suite and is well worth the extra money. You get a larger room with sitting area, plus a small outside terrace in front of the entrance. This is undoubtedly the best view available, others overlook the canyon; but you will be overlooking the Old Town from the perfect angle and...
