We booked this hotel, via Booking.com and decided to pay extra by reserving a deluxe room. On arrival, my first instinct was 'is this a deluxe room, I wonder what a standard room looks like'. The room was basic, bed, two bedside tables and large wardrobe without hangers. We were then given 3 hangers! After a very noisy first night,...

We had a great time the 2 nights we stayed there .... clean rooms, excellent beds, good breakfast, a beautiful sun terrace. Beautiful hall for breakfast. The location is central, but the surroundings are a bit depressing.

We book accessible room in hotel and from entry come to a problem as real it not accessible and there is one step. Of course you can say to somebody or to staff and they will help to enter but it mean not independent accessible. The other problem was with bathroom as after you use a shower all water goes...

Getting there is an adventure by itself. But once you arrive it feels you found a hidden palace in the middle of Naples. Convenient spacious rooms well decorated. Try to get one of the rooms that are located at the terrace for direc access.

Decemani is second to none when it comes to its location in the old city centre. The hotel is also a historical building featured in some guide books: it has a beautific baroque hall where breakfast is served. Rooms although simple are offered at good price given the other benefits staying in this hotel offers. The reception staff is especially...

We went here for a short break with a toddler and the staff were great. The room was excellent and all the staff were helpful. A great hotel. Well located, helpful and happy staff. The rooms are a good size and clean. Breakfast was varied and an interesting room too!

Considering that the hotel boasts about its many awards for being one of the best, the internet connection (in modern day a very important part of life) is terrible. I was travelling in a group of 3 and we all experienced the same problem, that the wifi would not work, no matter which network we tried to use. Although the...

Location is great and the buiding is beautiful. The staff were very nice and tried to be helpful. However, our room was really dirty and run down - enough so that it really affected our stay. This place badly needs someone to go through the rooms and fix the many problems and to do a thorough job cleaning!! A hole...

If you want class and elegance in the middle of the historical centre come here! The building holds so much history it feels like to step into a time machine. The salone with frescos is amazing that's where you can have breakfast and relax. For spring and summer they have a lovely terrace. I would suggest to ask for a...

Grandmothers and I were in Naples for five days at February 2017 for a little holiday. The hotel was nice and the restaurant was so beautiful. We really enjoyed the time. The hotel's staff was very friendly and helpful. We will certainly stay in this hotel another time.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are glad to give you the warmest welcome as our guests into Palazzo Sisto Riario Sforza. Here, in the heart of Naples old town within inches of Santa Chiara Church with its Cloister, the Veiled Christ and Via San Gregorio Armeno was born, in 2008, our Hotel. The Decumani Hotel de Charme was originally built during the 17th century and belonged to Sisto Riario Sforza, the last Archbishop of Naples in the Bourbon Kingdom of the Two Sicilies of which Naples was the capital. In 2008 we embarked on a major refurbishment programme for the second floor, where the Hotel is placed. The hotel has now been fully restored and equipping with all the modern conveniences our guests expect. A wide lounge, decorated with golden stuccoes and mirrors, testifies the illustrious past of this residence. All of our 22 bedrooms are fully air-conditioned and feature the following: soundproof windows, flat screen Television with international channels, safe, minibar, direct dial telephone and hairdryer. The Decumani Hotel de Charme is located in the Decumani, in the heart of the old town originally a Greek "polis" and then a Roman "urbs", an area wich represents with its squares, streets and alleys, a unique historical, cultural and artistic heritage, as it is testified by the acknowledgment of Unesco, which in 1995 declared the historic centre of Naples " the biggest open-air museum in the world". ... more   less

I was very interested to read reviews of this Hotel as I'm literally AGONIZING about where to take my family of four 'adult' children to stay in Naples this christmas! I've never been to Naples before and so reading a lot of the reviews one would think one was heading to India or Africa rather than Europe! However this does not bother me at all but obviously I am concerned firstly about the safety of my daughters and also given that I will be spending a lot of money to stay in 3 rooms for 10 days I really need to make the right decision about what area we stay in. This hotel was on the top of my list due to its high ta ratings but I'm wondering whether esp in the winter when it gets dark earlier whether this is a nice area for us to stay in? I thought it would be a good idea to stay in the centro storico so that we could walk to all the main historical sights but maybe Naples isn't such a big place and/or transport is good so that it wouldn't matter if we stayed exactly in the center? I don't want my 'children' to be put off by fear for their own safety or by the rubbish everywhere!! They are pretty tough but it will be their christmas present essentially! I believe there is a 'sister' hotel nearer to Chiaia called the Chiaja de charme? I was wondering whether this would be a nicer hotel to choose given it is a 'better' area? But from my research it appears the rooms are rather smaller than the Decumanis'. Whether this matters or not I don't know. I would really appreciate your feedback as obviously I need to make a decision soon before everything gets booked up! Many thanks Carolyne
