The Building is a new Hotel strategically located in a central area of the City of Rome. The Hotel is few steps away from Termini Station and next to the tube station of Castro Pretorio. This Hotel is well located to reach, within few minutes, the heart of Rome. The Building receives its guests in a historic building, still preserving the original decorations and architectural featuring, yet mixing together elegance and wealth elements conceived under an innovative atmosphere and modern decoration style. The hotel name "The Building" reminds to the word "construction" meant as container of different spaces and activities. The several areas of the Hotel, both inside and outside, are intended for activities meant to host the guests thus creating an enjoyable relaxing dimension within a historical atmosphere which will be particularly appreciated at the end of a heavy tourist or working day. The hotel is made of 108 among double and triple rooms and Junior Suites.

The Building Hotel garners praise for its spotless, modern rooms and the inviting atmosphere set by live piano music, although noise from this area can be a downside for some. While the amenities are appreciated for their cleanliness and modernity, the lack of complimentary in-room beverages and limited spa facilities have been noted. Opinions on value are mixed; some guests are satisfied with the dining and amenities, but others point out room quality concerns and unexpected costs. Service is generally lauded for its friendliness and efficiency, with occasional mentions of service inconsistencies. The hotel's location is appreciated for its convenience to Termini station and local eateries, yet it's a tad far from major attractions.

A great hotel with excellent service and very helpful friendly staff. We had a junior suite which was split over 2 floors as there were 4 of us and the room was very clean with comfortable beds and had everything we needed.

Breakfast included a selection of cereals, hot food and pastries with a variety of hot and cold drinks. The outdoor area around the swimming pool was clean and tidy and not overcrowded at the time we went so we were always able to find either sun loungers or seating.

The hotel is located about 10-12 minutes walk from Rome Termini (central train station). There are many really good restaurants to choose from for lunch and dinner within the hotels surrounding location that are reasonably priced.

Fantastic hotel, right next to (inside) the old city wall. So you have a view of history from the sun terrace. You will also be staying in a piece of history because the building was previously a monastery. In the former church of the monastery, the bar (with live piano music) is on the ground floor and the (breakfast) restaurant on the 1st floor (with extra terrace).

Well located at Castro Pretorio metro station, within walking distance of Termini train station and bus stop, a supermarket (7/7 to 10 p.m.) and some restaurants, but we took the metro to the old city in the evening to dine there.

The renovated church is the most important remnant of the building's history, because the rooms are very modern and equipped with every comfort. Lovely bed for me and my husband and a separate good bed for our 16 year old son. Good air conditioning, shower, spacious closet. We were on the street side, with a view of the garden of the British embassy across the street, and you hear some car traffic between 00 am and 6 am, but not super disturbing.

We booked via the hotel website and received a welcome drink: the glass of prosecco tasted great! Very friendly and helpful staff throughout the hotel, who speak very good English (bravo!).

It is unique that a hotel within the city walls has a spacious sun terrace, outdoor swimming pool and ample parking. Not heated pool, which I understand in the south. Ideal for our son to cool off in the gym after a busy day or sports session, while we enjoyed the evening sun! Pool towels through the hotel, convenient service!

Breakfast is generous. Restaurant serves simple but decent dishes in the evening. You can order until 10:30 PM, useful for late arrivals! In short, a top hotel for price-quality!

Tip for the hotel: refillable soap dispensers in the bathroom for less plastic and waste.

We booked as two couples for a weekend away in this beautiful city. The hotel when we booked had great reviews and had the facilities we wanted. Getting nearer to the time we look at reviews, which were mixed from different people, so began to get a little worried. We had nothing to worry about - it was fabulous.
We found it very clean with very modern rooms, the hotel is equipped with a small spa which was great to relax in after walking around all day, which really helped to relax.
Breakfast was adequate, with a good choice of mixed items, and the waiting staff very helpful.
Reception staff were very friendly and checked us in with no problem and a smile, with always a good morning when we came down.
It is a 10/15 minute walk from the Termini/metro station, which was great for us as we took the train from the airport. Within walking distance is a range of local restaurants, which are reasonably priced and we found not too expensive at all. The hope on off buses also leave from by the termini station.
Most of the attractions are on the other side of the area we were in, but if you like to walk and explore its a fab location, if you don't like walking, you will pay more for a similar quality hotel on the other side.
Rooms could do with tea & coffee facilities, but we knew it didn't have them before we went so took our own travel kettle - not a problem to us.
Great stay, lovely staff and beautiful city - loved this weekend.

We arrived at the hotel politely said “hello” and got a “have you checked in” response not polite at all. Further got advised of where our room was. When entering the room I felt trapped dark walls, thick heavy greys and black curtains, was far to dark and only four spotlights in main area of the room. They don’t mention their is a hospital one mile away and the front of the hotel is on a busy road so all you could hear throughout the night were sirens. Room was clean however when having a shower you just got a consistent drain smell. Breakfast was open from 7:30-10 am so a good amount of time but wasn’t anything special. The hotel was near to the train and bus station which was very handy. Its worth take a 15 minute walk out the hotel for good restaurants would definitely recommend restaurant Andrea pizza five minute walk from the hotel wonderful food and so lovely when presented too. Further when leaving needed to pay tourist tax and they ask for a 300 euro cash when checking in or a credit card they did accept debit which we were not aware of prior to arriving.
Overall would not choose to stay again.

I don’t normally leave reviews, but I’m genuinely surprised by all the positive reviews and feel they’re not representative of the hotel.

We stayed for 2 nights, on arrival we were not given the friendliest welcome, felt more like we were an annoyance. We were told the hotel needed a 200 euro deposit against any damage to the room, we gave our card and were told they don’t take debit cards only credit, which we didn’t have, so we were asked to walk to the local cash point and get 200 out which was an inconvenience as we just wanted to put our stuff in and freshen up to go straight back out. Staff were more pleasant when we returned and they were very nice the rest of our stay.

We paid for a room upgrade to a junior suite, the rooms were very badly lit and falling apart, we had to turn the sink tap off whilst brushing our teeth as it leaked. The shower head sprayed water over the cubicle and on to the floor. The toilet seat was hanging off. There were stains all over the carpets and walls. However we were there to explore so didn’t bother asking to be moved as we spent very little time in the room and it seemed superficially clean, just in need of major renovation and repair.

The room is advertised as having a minibar and in my experience of 4 star hotels what’s provided initially is included in the stay- however everything in the minibar was chargeable including water and no free water provided in the room, there are also no tea and coffee facilities. So we went to a local shop and stocked up on water and soft drinks.

Our bedroom tv was not working, however there were no English channels anyway. Overall the location isn’t great for the quality and price of the hotel, it’s around a 10 min taxi ride to main attractions, or a 30 minute walk if you’re fit and well. The hotel is definitely not up to 4* standards.

Our stay was mediocre, for the price point it was okay but slightly underwhelming. Upon arrival, we were faced with a €100 deposit per night on a credit card, neither of us had a credit card on us and so they expected €300 in cash total. This would have meant we were left with a large amount of money after our holiday in a currency that we do not use. The staff were good in dealing with this and instead just placed a hold on my card, this was dealt with in a good manner by the staff who were always pleasant during our stay however it was not the start we anticipated.

We could not fault the room, it was clean and modern, some reviews state that they are small but they are decently sized especially considering the price. Breakfast was average there is not a huge selection however with it being continental we did not expect much and it served its purpose.

The hotel is in a good location if you're prepared to walk around 20-30 minutes to attractions. There were lots of restaurants within a short walking distance. The staff were happy to help and pre-warned us of local public transport strikes and assisted us in navigating the city. There was a pianist on every night in the bar which was gorgeous!

The spa was well-priced at €25pp for 2 hours however you do need to purchase a swimming cap for €4 each. They only allow a certain number of guests in at a time so it does have a nice private feel. Unfortunately, during our stay the jacuzzi was not working however we still enjoyed it and felt like it was worth the money.

To conclude, if we were to visit Rome we would consider staying here again.

Love the Building hotel.. perfect for a balanced city break. Rome is definitely a busy bustling city so to relax back at The Building hotel after a long day sightseeing is lush, the whole place is spotless, quiet and modern,. The swimming pool and sun deck are an amazing extra and the ballroom itself is stunning, they do have events so it's not always open to residents but the balcony in the restaurant gives good views also. The breakfast buffet was delicious, a wide choice of food and drinks all fresh every day and the staff were very attentive and helpful. The area the hotel is in is very quiet but close to train and bus station for days out and plenty of local shops and restaurants around if you don't want to go down into the main part of the city, which is also not too far. I'd highly recommend this for families with kids or people just looking to relax. Oh, and the housekeeping man who was there was amazing, nothing was ever too much trouble, and the rooms were cleaned daily

We stayed at the building hotel for 4 nights. On arrival the front desk staff were friendly and helpful and we were booked into our family room. The room was clean and modern and for the price was good value. The hotel is in a good area which is not noisy and the metro was a walk away and also the main Termini station a short walk away. If you need to go anywhere the staff at reception would always be happy to advise and offer recommendations such as places to eat as well. The hotel staff also booked taxis and would tell you approx how much these would cost as well. In the morning the breakfast were lovey include hot and cold selections and the custard pastries were lovely. You could even have a glass of Italian sparkling wine with your breakfast. In the evenings the hotel bar is a amazing place to relax after a hard day's sightseeing and the piano player Carmelo was a great musician and a lovely person who would play requests. The hotel bar and hospitality manager was also a lovey man who would chat and smile and he made sure his guess were happy. We are now home but miss this hotel and would certainly return again.

0 Only for the SPA
I would like to point out that I was not a guest of the hotel but only of the Spa which is located inside it.
Unfortunately, even if the management of the Spa is different, the image of the hotel is also affected by this.
It's like being at a fish market and if you try to ask the owner to enforce silence she replies that she doesn't silence people and that while you're doing your
Massage if you don't want to hear turn up the music. Owner who, with two guys who took photos of the rooms, was the first to speak in front of the massage cabins. In short, a 90 euro massage done as if you were in the middle of the fish market. The operator was very good and mortified. You pay at the cash desk of the hotel which is under a completely different management but which evidently receives many complaints from customers who go to the spa, in fact the embarrassed and aware receptionist wanted to offer us an aperitif.
A round of applause to the receptionist, attentive, very polite and understanding, who also had to find out what to charge us because no one had left her an indication nor did they reply from the spa, we told her. Ah, the owner, if you complain about the noise, will also reply that that's how it works in spas..!! Absurd

Our recent six-day stay at The Building in Rome was an absolute delight, especially when traveling with a teenager. Opting for the junior suite proved perfect, providing two levels of living space that allowed our son his own private area on the lower floor. This layout not only gave him a sense of independence but also ensured everyone had their own comfortable space.

Each morning began wonderfully with the included breakfast. The offerings were ample and varied—from scrambled eggs and bacon to a broad selection of meats, cheeses, pastries, and cereals—ensuring a pleasing start to our busy days.

The hotel’s bar was another highlight, featuring stunning interiors that made each evening feel special. The addition of a live pianist elevated our experience, creating a soothing ambiance that was perfect for unwinding after a day of exploration.

Dining in the hotel’s restaurant was a treat as well; the Italian cuisine was authentically delicious and provided good value. We dined there twice and each meal was a testament to the quality and service of the establishment.

Located in the prestigious embassy district, The Building was ideally situated, just a 30-minute walk from the Trevi Fountain and close to many other popular sights. Even when we chose to take taxis, they were surprisingly quick and reasonably priced, adding to the convenience of our stay.

Given our wonderful experience, we wouldn’t hesitate to choose The Building again for our next visit to Rome. It offered not just a place to stay, but a place to truly enjoy, making our holiday as relaxing as it was memorable.
