Six of us stayed at Donna Camilla Savelli Hotel for two nights in early September of 2017. Everything was quite lovely! The common areas were beautiful and the staff was helpful and pleasant. The building was a convent in its earlier days and still houses...More
Stayed at VOI D.C.S. Hotel for a week in September 2017. Overall very happy with my stay, and would consider staying here again.
The building: It´s an old building, with historical "atmosphere" – I think it might have been an old monastry. There is actually...More
Friendly staff and helpful with everything that we needed. Room was decent size with nice bathroom and comfortable bed. Location was great. I knew I had wanted to stay in this location before visiting and this hotel was definitely the best in the area.
A beautiful hotel set in a converted convent in the Trasteverere area of the city. The hotel was highly recommended to us and more than lived up to our expectations. All of the staff were very pleasant throughout the hotel and the reception staff suggested...More

Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable
eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.

We imagined being in the city during the day and retreating to the hotel and Trastevere in the evening. In reality the walking distance between the hotel and attractions didn't seem that far. During our stay we found ourselves walking, on the bus, underground and taxi, a real mixed bag covering all parts of the city. Go for something in the city if you want to cut down on mileage. However you will miss out on a hotel that we really loved and probably good value for Rome and Trastevere had a really good vibe. Whatever you decision, you will love Rome
