We had an amazing time at the Monte Cenci Hotel. This is a beautiful hotel, close to EVERYTHING, yet on a quiet street. The rooms are great - very clean and quiet. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace was a great way to start each day. But the best part is the wonderful people - everyone who works here are friendly, kind, and courteous. They go out of their way to help you in every way. It felt like I was staying with family - even better. There's a restaurant 1/2 block away and many more within a 3 minute walk. The River Tiber is just a block away. Almost everything is a short walk away. Paolo and his entire team treated us like royalty and we can't wait to go back. This was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at - mostly because of the great people who work there.

The Monte Cenci Hotel is a fantastic haven in the heart of Rome yet in a discreet quiet location a stone's throw from the Tiber and Campo Fiori. The bedrooms are spotless, compact and yet have all your requirements on hand like fridge, shower gels, coffee and tea, and a/c. The service is very friendly and welcoming from the lovely coffees and pastries served in the morning to the wonderful travel advice from charming Nico on reception. It is also very good value. We will definitely be back- the sequel is coming soon.

I was fortunate enough to stay at Hotel Monte Cenci for a few days back in August but I am just now getting to writing this review because I still reminisce about the experience I had. As the other reviews can attest, the location and service for the price is incredible and never have I had more accommodating hotel staff members. The hotel is situated perfectly -- it's in close proximity to the Forum, Trastevere, the Pantheon/Piazza Navona and numerous bus stops which make access to the remainder of the city very easy. Prior to my stay, I had been on a month-long excavation in the Appennines and the staff recommended phenomenal places for dining, shopping, and even massages to ensure that my stay and 'recovery' fit my liking. I have already recommended Hotel Monte Cenci to numerous people and will definitely continue doing so. In all, it was clear that they wanted to invest their time to make my brief trip to Rome the best it could be and will stay there whenever I'm in Rome again!

We have just returned from a few days stay at the Monte Cenci, the location is within walking distance to all of the main sites, the furthest being the Vatican which is approximately a 35 minute walk and the closest being the Pantheon which is 10 minutes away. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, giving us maps and routes to follow, suggestions for restaurants and bars. Our room was a superior, it was small but exceptionally clean, the bed was very comfortable, there was nothing to see through the windows apart from walls. The only downside would be the breakfast but this is probably due to the Covid situation. You have to fill out a sheet the day before, pick your time, which isn’t always available, and tick the items you wish to have. These items are limited but ok, there was bread (rolls) but no butter. When you sit down everything you ticked arrived at once, one day we didn’t get the items we had ticked but they were busy so we just ate what they gave us. Overall it was a very good hotel, I would recommend it and I would stay again because they were so lovely. Thank you!

We had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Monte Cenci and we were delighted with our stay and it was exceptional in every way. Amazing experience from start to finish! This was our honeymoon trip and we decided to spent a week in Rome in this amazing boutique hotel. I was amazed by the level of service, by the immaculate attention to detail and most importantly how the General Manager Mr. Paolo run his property. A true gentleman in every sense of the world with high standards, personable and definitely a person who care about his guests.

The hotel is luxurious yet cosy and comfy, not stuffy at all. I just can't say enough about the property's design and quality of the furnishings both in the common areas and the rooms. The owners have created a profoundly calm and restful atmosphere which reflects the spirit of the city and its citizens. Our room was amazingly decorated for the occasion with chocolate, red roses and a chilled bottle of Prosecco wine waiting for us with personal written messages from Mr. Paolo himself. The bathroom was incredible with his huge Romain marble bathtub in the centre. You will find all the amenities you need and let’s not forget the large comfortable bed.

The personal service is exceptional and makes the whole visit relaxing. I don't need to be pampered by a hotel, but I am amazed at what they do to make clients comfortable. Thank you to everybody in the team, especially Beatrice at the reception, you are so wonderful. Despite the mask we all have to wear (Covid-19), we can feel your beautiful smile and your kindness. Thank you for caring and making our stay even better. To Aurelia (I hope we spell your name correctly) who prepare and serve every morning our delicious breakfast. You are also special and don’t lose this contagious happiness you project to all your guests. The team are truly passionate about making your stay as special and memorable as possible and you are so well looked after. The service was definitely what Hotel Monte Cenci stands for, just perfect.

Treat yourself to this one. You won't be sorry. There’s a reason why this hotel stands out amongst the best in Rome….now you know why. To the one and only GM Paolo, Beatrice, Aurelia and the rest of the team, we will definitely be back.

Love always from Patrick and Emelia Room # 306

We just spent 4 nignts at this charming hotel and we were extremely satisfied with our stay. The location is very central and close to many attractions, the room was very quiet, the bed and the pillows were super confortable, the breakfast was excellent and the most important thing of all: the complete staff is incredible and always goes above and beyond to assist in any way they can. We travel a lot and it is rare to find such a friendly staff in a big city. Everybody was kind, smiling, patient, helpful and they went out of their way to make sure that we had a memorable experience…and we did. Special thanks to Andreea, Elisa, Shary and the manager Paolo. My girlfriend and I recently stayed at Hotel Monte Cenci for three nights. It was our first time in Rome, and we are people who like to get out early and stay out late, so we didn’t plan on staying in the hotel much. As such, we wanted a place that was clean, relatively inexpensive, and centrally located. All of which this hotel served us well in. The hotel staff were also all extremely friendly, professional, and helpful.

However, some things to keep in mind before booking is that the hotel appears to be marketed slightly incorrectly. From the photos the hotel rooms look more spacious and updated than in the real setting. For instance, the walls in our standard room were marked up and thin, the amenities were old, and the lock on our bathroom did not work. The grout on our shower was also discolored. Outside the room, the check in desk and lobby looked like it need some updating as well. We did not mind this, but given that the hotel is advertised as a four-star property, people looking for more high-end touches might be disappointed.

Despite this, it’s still a wonderful property if you are looking for a central, simple, and clean home-base in Rome, just don’t expect much more in terms of luxury, space, and amenities.

We went for a five day trip in October and had an amazing time. Location is perfect - you can walk to most of the main sights in Rome easily. The hotel is so charming. We stayed in a room with a hot tub that was really lovely. Paolo at the front desk as well as the other women are fantastic. The only small negative was the breakfast. It was OK - mainly kind of repetitive and not so fast. I think that is because of COVID they were forced to use a temporary chef who was perhaps a bit too busy to service the two tables at a time they had. Otherwise amazing stay

We only stayed for one night, but we absolutely loved our experience. There was a sweet little note addressed to us in our hotel room, and we were given a generous map of the city upon arrival, complete with the manager creating two potential walking routes for us around the city. The entire staff were so kind to us, the bellhops, bartender, check in Concierge’s, and manager were so sweet and personable. The location was also prime, close in walking distance to many restaurants as well as the historic district. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

I prepaid a non-refundable rate for 4 nights at this hotel back in January of 2020 to travel in April of 2020. No one could have seen the pandemic coming and obviously, we were not able to travel In April and the hotel was closed anyway. I realize that I booked a non-refundable rate but the hotel could not honor their commitment either as they were closed. I never asked for a refund. I just asked that they honor my almost $1500.00 for whenever we could travel. From the beginning, they told me that they would change my dates but for an additional fee. Because of the unexpected and unending nature of this pandemic, I asked the hotel to move my dates a few times and they did but again, requesting an additional penalty which I did not pay unless they guaranteed me that there would be no additional charges. They never gave me this guarantee. I have since rescheduled my trip for April of 2022 and I communicated with the hotel in July of 2021 and the answer from Paolo was the would get back to me. He finally answers 4 months later on 11/24/21 after I sent a follow up email and tells me that he will not honor my reservation in 2022 and can't make any "exceptions". He stated that he had changed my dates multiple times which is true but he shouldn't have taken over 4 months to answer only to tell me he's keeping my money. I had originally booked 3 other hotels in Italy and all have been extremely accommodating and understanding. I truly understand that I booked a non-refundable rate but the hotel could not honor it's commitment either because they were closed at the time of the original reservation. They should have refunded my money right then. I still don't want a refund, I just want them to honor the nights I have already paid them. Paolo did offer me a discounted rate for my future travel which was nothing short of insulting. This is terrible business practice and I would caution future travelers.

We had a deluxe room. Bigger than most rooms you will find in Rome. King bed and soaking tub. Looked just like the photo on line.
