Eitch Borromini is located inside Palazzo Pamphilj, ordered by Pope Innocenzo X and designed by Francesco Borromini in the XVIIth century with exquisitely furbished guest rooms equipped with every comfort. Six floors throughout, surrounded by bell towers, magnificent terraces with unequaled views of Rome and secret passageways that lead to internal views of the church and of St. Agnese in Agone, the baroque masterpiece next to us. The building also houses the “Borromini Art Gallery”, an exhibition space dedicated to the exhibitions of Italian modern artists and its restaurant "Terrazza Borromini", a place to relax and have lunch enjoying a 360 degree view of San Pietro, the Pantheon and all the domes of the city.

Let me be over the top and effusive about the Eitch Borromini, because it's a wonderful boutique hotel in a wonderful location, with Piazza Navona in the front of the hotel and hundreds of wonderful bars, cafes and shops behind the hotel. I stay in hotels much of the year, and am ecstatic when I come across a hotel that I want to stay at again and again. The Eitch Borromini is one of those hotels. This past month as Italy lifted restrictions to travel in, I took a last minute trip to Rome from the United States, and stayed the first night at the Marriott Excelsior, which proved to be very disappointing. As I searched out another hotel to move to in a vibrant area, I came across wonderful reviews on Trip Advisor and other sources reviewing the Eitch Borromini---and I booked three nights here. Which were great. ( And then I left to stay somewhere else I already booked, but then extended my trip for a few days so I could come BACK to the Eitch Borromini before returning stateside). So the hoterls in a brilliant location. The front of the hotel is on Piazza Navona (but the only hotel entrance is on the street one block directly behind the square (cars can get through---not true of every street in Rome). And for many many blocks in multiple directions from the hotel there is a wonderful, amazing assortment of restaurants, bars, clubs, etc with both inside and outside dining. In other words it's a vibrant neighborhood, and you're not isolated. And I love to sometimes just go have a Cappucino in the beautiful Piazza Navona. Plus this hotel is in the city center so you're close to all major attractions. Now---as for the hotel. First, the front desk team is superb. Kind, helpful, loved them. And the rooms vary---today I am in a wonderful room over the courtyard. At first reaction before my first visit I wanted a room with a view of the square, but later found out it wasn't as important-- as the area was so good I'n outside most of the time anyway. The rooms are wonderful, well appointed, and some of the suites are awesome (far exceeding a suite I had at the Excelsior). It's a freshly redone hotel so it's not dusty old furniture as some Italian hotels have (and I've stayed in a few of those). And can we talk about the hotels rooftop restaurant with the wonderful breakfast---overlooking the square and the city? (Ive added pictures). How perfect is that? And it's open for lunch or dinner too. Food is outstanding. And then there is the rooftop bar overlooking everything with a sweeping view. It's just fantastic. The area around the hotel is not always quiet---you do hear the hum of a vibrant neighborhood from some rooms but then you know you're in Rome. Didn't bother me in the least. When I was here the President of Georgia was also staying---as the hotel is safe and someone always watching the front entry. Anyway--- bottom line, this is a wonderful hotel and I hope to return here many times. Locations great, food is excellent the rooms I've stayed were wonderful and the staff has been superb.

It deals of a greatly refurbished boutique hotel in the very heart of the most beautiful and magic place of the world, Rome. Rooms are fairly large, comfortable and clean. The location itself makes the difference, just a stone throw to anywhere you want to go in Rome. Nice staff, attentive. The facility is for those who like comfort, discretion and elegance. The rooftop bar is remarkable. Fair prices.

We stayed five nights at the Eitch Borromini and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were upgraded to a Deluxe Suite with City view, which was lovely and gave us so much space. It did not have views over the Piazza Navona, but we felt it was probably quieter at night as a result. The service we received was excellent - the reception staff were all so friendly and helpful. The rooftop bar has wonderful views all over Rome and is a great place to have cocktails (if a little expensive, but worth it). In terms of location, the hotel is perfectly and centrally situated - within walking distance of all the main sights. We could not fault it.

A beautiful hotel with some of the best staff (older male restaurant waiter) and some of the worst (young waiters on top floor bar who really couldn’t care less) One or two issues along the way that we had to bring to the staffs attention, but most dealt with to the best of abilities during difficult times. The suite dell orologio r301 the ex clock room, has been tastefully designed and offers one of the best accommodations in central Rome. A little more attention to detail is required brought to the managements attention and has been noted - hopefully dealt with will give you an almost prefect stay. Unfortunately the placement of the restaurant above does cause excessive noise with furniture movement and careless customers toss cigarettes over into the rooms terrace (this happened during my stay) The final point though not directly the hotels fault was that the hotel arranged transfer driver didn’t wear a mask and had all windows closed creating a sealed area!

Obviously I got nothing to object about the palace and the location, but the staff mix is somehow strange, some are excellent, some a bit less. Fact 1: upon arrival by rental car I spot a gentleman who seems to be a security guy. I ask for the reception, which is totally unmarked. Rudely the guy directed me to apply around the corner as the office was there. Net result I find myself in the middle of Piazza Navona, which is strict pedestrian area and get fined by the local police Fact 2: the breakfast is served on a terrace at the 4th floor. The Roman pigeons are let walking around on the table and the dishes and nobody minds Fact 3: in the middle of the breakfast a yell comes from the kitchen...."she is a bad lady, she is a bad lady...", obviously not using exactly very elegant words... Fact 4; I can tell cigarettes are left in ashtrays so long that thy will likely be found by archeologist in due time. Overall, I mean the stay was spoiled by the above facts, in particular the sophisticated security/welcome guy who was then worth 50 Euro fine....thanks
