We booked this hotel based on numerous reviews for disabled users. We arrived, wheelchair, luggage and carers at 10.30pm. Immediately told that we were going to be moved to hotel sky to better meet my requirements, only 5 mins away, yes, if you are able bodied.... it took another 15mins, 8 steps, 3 times up in a tiny lift and... Locationwise, it is very close to Rome Termini. We arrived Hotel Filippo Roma, there's a Chinese man, Mr. Li told us that our hotel is in another building. He said they owed 3 hotels. His daughter-in-law took us to the Simon Hotel which is around 2 minutes away from Hotel Filippo Roma. When we entered the building, there's a very... More

There are good and bad things about every hotel, but unfortunatly this review is made up of mostly negitive feedback... First, it's important to mention that my Mum is disabled and is in a wheelchair as a result of her condition, and that the hotel had been made aware of this through multipule emails prior to our arrival. We arrived... More

When we arrived in Rome, we had a little bit of trouble finding the hotel. Mostly because there weren't any big signs or anything to indicate where it actually was. After we finally did find the hotel, we were moved over to Hotel Sky, which was one of the sister properties about 3 blocks away. The location of the hotel... More

A budget hotel with excellent facilities near to termini station. We had no problems what so ever during our stay. Air condition and a cool water in the fridge were more than welcomed after a tiring hot day in Rome. The owner, Lee, is a polite person and makes sure that your stay is comfortable. Breakfast served was freshly made... More

The plus of the hotel is its location. 100 m far from the metro line or busses and, for those who would love walking to discover a city, all major sites to visit are at walking distance. What we did! The hotel is very clean and management or staff are very friendly. Wifi is well accessible from the dining room,... More

Spent 4 nights here with my husband and baby. Place is clean, basic breakfast provided with 24/7 coffee available. Our room had a king bed and was big enough for the 3 of us. Close to metro. Street does look a bit dodgy with some sketchy looking people but we had no issues. Wifi connection was great! Overall it's a... More

Booked at Filippo we were brought to their sister hotel Sky at Via Napoleon 75, two Streets further. Seems to be the better place of their 3 hotels. Fine clean room/bathroom, good cleaning, good beds. Take away breakfast for eating on your room was okay to us. Coffee machine 24/7 available. No reception seats/person for tips. Guess for Eur 100/night... More

We spent 4 days exploring Rome, and clearly Filippo hotel wins by its location. Buses and metro at Termini, 3 minutes to metro Victor Emanuel gives opportunity to access any sight at any time. Hotel was clean, croissant or eggs for breakfast. Coffee machine with free coffee available whole day. No issue with communication in English. Internet connection was little... More

I had come to Genoa for a business trip and decided to go to Rome over the weekend. Hotel Filippo Roma is a nice hotel for a budget traveller who does not want all amenities which can be found in 3 stars. It is 20 minutes walking distance from Colosseum and there are lots of shops in its vicinity esp... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

“A great firm king size bed for my bad back, extra pillows, clean, clean - highly recommend. Towels a little rough but kind service, daily complimentary bottled water .makes up for all. Earplugs help (but any urban condo you need them). WIFI in room .great for computer. We are in Hotel Simone, one of three hotels within 3 blocks they own. Reserved at Filippino but taken here - all good looks just like picture. Daily breakfast coupon for Miky Bar for coffee and croissant, it is great. Will definitely stay here again. Here six more days and if anything changes will advise. Rome is a noisy city - bring earplugs for good nights sleep”
