Spent 3 nights at the sky roma section of the hotel phillipo and it was a lovely stay. It looked like it was in a housing conplex but we had a balcony which was shared with another room - which was fine! Nice comfy beds and cleaned every day! We had breakfast in milky bar (croussan and capuccino) and they...

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights in June. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean, although a bit small and noisy due to the traffic outside. The hotel is not situated in one of the nicest areas of Rome. However, the hotel is central and close to the main bus and train...

After an awful flight from Venice (easyjet, but that's another story), our flight arrive couple of hours late and well after midnight. We're worry that check-in is not going to be easy for hotels in this price bracket. However, the staff there greet us soon after we ring the bell, and pick up our luggage. As you read from other...

We made the booking by web site agent and it was not clear, that the room would be actually in other building, which finally was no problem - but be advised. The Sky Rome is on 1st and 4th floor with old fashioned elevator, rooms are clean, well kept (daily maintenance, towels), high, air conditioned, nice furnished (in a little...

We stayed in Hotel Sky - one of the three hotels of the Hotel Filippo Group. When we arrived, owner awaited us, checking in was very smooth and quick, he walked us to our hotel, which was located in very nice building on the 4th floor - we actually really enjoyed the fact that it wasn't a 'typical' hotel scene...

We have booked this hotel just to have a place where to sleep near the center (metro, train and bus station 3 min. walk) and it was very nice. Very clean, towels were changed every day, staff is friendly. For the money we have payed it was really very good.

The previous reviews gave me very mixed expectations but I'm glad I trusted the positive ones more. To start with, location. From termi station it is a 5-10 minute walk and is very straight forward as long as you can get your bearings upon leaving the station. When we arrived we were informed that filippo was one of three hotels...

I had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Filippo between Nov 29 thru Dec 1,2011. The hotel is one street over from the Very Large Termini Station and I found it with no incident. My 2nd floor room was very neat and I had no problems except for the wi-fi and television (like I visited Rome to watch tv???)....

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

“A great firm king size bed for my bad back, extra pillows, clean, clean - highly recommend. Towels a little rough but kind service, daily complimentary bottled water .makes up for all. Earplugs help (but any urban condo you need them). WIFI in room .great for computer. We are in Hotel Simone, one of three hotels within 3 blocks they own. Reserved at Filippino but taken here - all good looks just like picture. Daily breakfast coupon for Miky Bar for coffee and croissant, it is great. Will definitely stay here again. Here six more days and if anything changes will advise. Rome is a noisy city - bring earplugs for good nights sleep”
