I totally recommend it. It has a great staff, the bedroom is comfortable, there was 3 bathrooms available and all of them very clean, organized and have great showers. The breakfast is good and on time. The common area is comfortable and they have computers available if you need. The WiFi is good too

This hostel is clean, very friendly and had a private bathroom for my friend and myself. The young folks at the front desk were so very nice. I think we may have been the oldest people to ever stay in this hostel! Everything was good - from the service to the price, to the location. The only thing that I...

Of my 6 hostels in winter 2012 this was the best. Clean, equipped kitchen, very good price if youre careful with your booking. A little less central than the others but not much & i had my bike. Would be back.

I was going through hostels like crazy on TripAdvisor and couldn't decide which hostel to book for my stay in Rome since for some reason, the reviews were surprisingly mixed. However, I had booked this hostel the last minute just 2 days before I arrived in Rome for the reviews were the least mixed and generally positive. Also, I was...

Clean rooms. Friendly knowledgeable people behind the counter. Stayed for one night and couldn't really fault anything. This was my first stay at a hostel due to some last minute changes and I must say it exceeded all of my expectations.

The hostel isn't in the centre of town, but it doesn't take that long to walk to the main station, termini. The service was friendly and there was breakfast every day. The rooms were adequate and clean. Excellent value for money. Would recommend.

The City Hostel is really an apartment in a regular building that's been converted into a hostel. It's located in the University area - which means there are a lot of dining options (Pizza Cinque has all-you-can-eat pizza for 5 euros), convenient transport facilities (bus stop and metro station close by) and it's not too expensive. The bed was quite...

i stayed there 5 nights in Nov. it's a small hostel not in the city centre but it's also very easy to get to by metro (only 15mins or so). by the meaning of it, it's located in a non-touristic area and it's perfect for those who wanna escape from the tourists and the crowd and "tourist's price". it's a...

Rome City Hostel is just a short metro ride away from all the big famous attractions and located within walking distance to both major train stations. Located in the university district, you feel like you're actually living in Rome rather than just visiting. The staff are fantastic and super helpful and the rooms are large and clean. The wifi signal...

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo may look all street with its pulse in urban art and street food, but don’t be fooled. This gritty student neighbourhood immediately east of Termini train station is on the avant-garde rise. Art galleries, curated mural projects by artists like Rome’s favorite Alice, charming cafes, and boutique restaurants are slowly infiltrating the streets of San Lorenzo with counter-culture chic. Don’t worry, San Lorenzo still retains its local vibe with weekend festivals and demonstrations, and is always a hub for Rome’s university student scene.

“Not all the rooms have bathrooms. If it's an issue for you, you can pay an extra euro or two a night to get a room with a bathroom. Otherwise you use the ones in the hallway. I stayed in both types of rooms and it's not a big deal. I never had to wait to use it either.”
