Positive: Great Staff, wonderful water pressure in the shower/bath, always had hot water, never waited long for the elevator.
Negative: NOISE issues - there is a desk chair in every room that when moved, makes a scrapping noise that can be heard in the rooms next door, below, and in the hallway. The simple solution is to put soft cloth under each chair leg in each room. We were woken up every night of our stay because a neighbor (above or next door) would drag a chair several times at midnight or 2AM or 3AM or 5AM & again at 7AM. Moving rooms would not resolve because this is an issue with the entire building. Also I heard (through the connecting door) the neighbor snoring. I can not recommend the hotel due to the noise issue. Other than that, it is a great location & has a great staff! Fix the noisy chair in every review and I will give it 100% excellent review.

We enjoyed our stay here, it was in a good location not far from the Vatican City. Our room was nice (junior suite), spacious and clean. It had a coffee machine, slippers and plenty of towels. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Disappointingly when we had a later start the hot water had seemingly ‘ran out’ so was lukewarm at best; early starts were fine, the water was hot. The breakfast was nice, plenty of selection (continental) and a nice light restaurant.

If you’re a light sleeper I’d suggest some ear plugs - the glass bins (on the street) were emptied nightly around midnight, and other rubbish was collected around 7am. We stayed on the 5th floor, our room was facing the street, it was noisy.

We spent 6 nights in the hotel, the beds are very comfortable, at night you do not hear street noise and the bathroom is very complete. The staff is very attentive and I want to highlight the kindness of Roberto who attended us wonderfully in the cafeteria. It is a highly recommended hotel.

The NH Collection Giustiniano in Rome, unfortunately, falls short of expectations, particularly given the price point and its four-star status. Starting with the check-in process, the absence of a bellman to assist with luggage in the lobby was immediately inconvenient, especially for travelers carrying more, such as those with a baby. The room, despite being a large suite, presented several issues: it was poorly lit, had a persistent musty odor, and the bathroom felt dark and lacked cleanliness. These conditions hardly justify the nearly $600/night charge.

Moreover, the experience with the dining service was frustrating. The staff was unhelpful with breakfast orders, often not having menu items available and requiring multiple calls to secure a simple meal. This lack of service and attention can be particularly taxing when trying to manage a stay with a young child.

While the location near Piazza del Popolo might suggest convenience, the immediate area is described as dull, quiet, and dark, which might not appeal to those looking to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere typical of Rome.

As can be expected, the images do not show the true conditions of the hotel. I understand the messy room might seem worse, but you can clearly see the poor conditions of the crib given as well as general deterioration of the place. A moldy shower is not acceptable by means.

In conclusion, the NH Collection Giustiniano did not meet the expected standards for its star rating and price, with significant improvements needed in service, room conditions, and overall guest experience. This stay highlighted the importance of consistent quality and service in hospitality, elements that were regrettably missed during this visit.

For a great location, NH Collection should have assigned or hired an experienced manager that can better maintain good relationships with clients. The hotel charged us breakfast when my Costco travel package clearly includes it for 4 people for two rooms. Anyways, I guess business is that bad they immediately need to charge us 100 euros. It's a shame that Costco Travel clients are treated like this.

I traveled to Rome from December 31, 2024 to January 4, 2025 for the end-of-year holidays with my wife and 10-year-old son and stayed at the NH Collection Roma Gustiniano Hotel in a suite on the 7th floor with a view of the Vatican.
I would like to share my experience of staying in this hotel with you.
This four-star hotel has a normal standard upwards. The suite of this hotel, which was our place of residence, provides you with a large and comfortable space for 3 persons to stay. The hotel's breakfast is acceptable and provides a suitable variety for you. The location of the hotel is very convenient in terms of access to luxury stores, various restaurants and the historical places in Rome, especially the Vatican, and also taxi is always available if you wish. The cleaning of the hotel and the rooms was very acceptable and it was done regularly and daily.
The check-in and check-out times at this hotel are 3pm and 12pm respectively.
The staff at this hotel were very respectful of the guests and tried their best to help them.
The strong point of this hotel and with respect to the other hotel staff, there were two female staff members of the reservation department named Martina and Laura, who did the best and very kind efforts in helping the travelers, far beyond the hotel standards. I requested an early check-in due to my son being on this trip, which Martina very kindly provided for me. Remember these two names if you stay at this hotel and be sure to refer to them and they will certainly help you if you need any assistance.
In the end, I would like to thank the trip advisor website, which, as always, provided me with the best information before the trip.

Pros:

- Rooms are very large, plenty of space to relax.

- The breakfast is great and the kitchen staff and servers are the friendliest employees here.

- You are within a relatively walkable distance to restaurants and sightseeing in the area. If you’re here, definitely see the colosseum, Roman forum, and the Spanish Steps. Grekos Prati is the best restaurant within minutes of the hotel.

- Free water in the lobby most hours of the day (sparkling and still)

- Free bottle of champagne if celebrating your anniversary.

Cons:

- Upon arrival, the older gentleman with a tie that checked us in took a rude tone and told us to sit until our room was ready. Over 30 minutes later, the room was ready, but he never told us. We didn’t get to our room until we talked to another concierge for help. We were very confused by this man’s demeanor and it put our stay off to a bad start.

- Locals in the area have an apparent hatred towards tourists. The locals in Prati can be very rude and unpleasant. After the first day of our stay, we were ready to leave this city based on the attitude. Florence and Venice are much friendlier cities to tour. Had we known Romans were hostile to tourists, we wouldn’t have come, and we will never be returning in the future.

- The staff randomly disabled our key cards mid-way through our stay with no explanation. Very suspicious.

- The air conditioning in the rooms does not work very well. Understandably, it is a very hot summer, but the AC was doing such little work that sleeping in the room was uncomfortable.

- While waiting for a private taxi in the lobby after checking out, another front desk worker tried to interrogate us and kick us out for patiently sitting in the lobby chairs for our ride. After mentioning that we booked through Costco, they left us alone.

- The showers in the rooms get so hot that they will physically burn your skin if not careful.

- Drivers in the area disregard crosswalks and speed inches past pedestrians even if they are already walking. Very unsafe especially if with children or a large family.

Excellent! I had an amazing stay. The service is warm at the reception, the room is very comfortable and the location is excellent, with easy access to the main attractions. Breakfast is a separate experience with a wide and delicious variety of options. The staff was extremely attentive and always available to help.

It took me only ten minutes to walk down the road to Castel Sant'Angelo which is next to the amazing St. Peter's Basilica, so it's perfect for running around all the main sites of Rome.
It also has some fabulous restaurants on the same road and is a 25 minute taxi ride from Fiumicino Airport
I was upgraded from a large room to a junior suite at check in as it was my birthday week.
This room had more than I needed as I was running around sight-seeing but I was really touched by the gesture and Roberta at reception was just lovely…in fact all the staff were.
My room had a bath/shower a balcony (perfect for morning coffee), two large screen TV’s and a separate lounge area. It also had a mini bar, ample storage and was very peaceful – I slept so well! It was perfectly clean and air conditioned.
I was very touched by the lovely birthday note and sweets left for me by the team.
The only downside is the breakfast room service. I really wanted to treat myself for my birthday morning – I did not get it as some scrambled eggs, bacon and a pineapple juice would have cost me 46 euros – eek.
I would recommend the hotel and would definitely stay there again.

Very spacious junior suite booked through Costco Travel. The breakfast had a great variety with excellent coffee and fresh fruit but the scrambled eggs were very watery/runny. The sheets were crisp and amazing.
The communication with front desk staff could have been better. Upon check in, the room wasn’t ready yet so they took our luggage which was very confusing when we needed to get it bank once our room was ready.
The package through Costco came with complimentary welcome drink upon arrival but they wouldn’t let us have our drinks until our room was ready. Dumb. We ended up enjoying them later and was happy they let us choose the type of drink we wanted.
The toilet paper (tp)was not replenished after our room was cleaned the first day so we had to call twice and ask for TP. They don’t know the meaning of a washcloth and brought us 2 full bath towels instead. Also, getting a taxi to the train station was a cluster as we requested a van for 5, then a car showed up and 3 of us jumped in, then a van arrived for 5 and the other 2 jumped in that one.
